It's basically a painting split into a few different parts with smoke between them to create a 3d effect. I'm really happy with how it turned out. Took a while to get the system set up.
It really looks like you're really there in the game. Although It's just a test I think it's getting there. I don't judge too quick on a project until it's finish. You mention in the other comments that you made other games and they were bad. I'm curious to ask what kind of game you made in the past and why it didn't go so good.
Well they weren't bad necessarily. Just crude as I made them when I was a bit younger. I have a 3d one based on an old school 90s rpg with a dark secret. I also have a couple of smaller 2d things
When people look at work like this to them it's good but to you whose doing it it takes a lot of effort. It's not like drawing a picture for hours and it's done. It takes some time. But it's a good feeling to have those noticing that you're putting something to the table.
Wow! This looks amazing! The scrolling looks really smooth and I love the shifting smoke effects OvO
The white streaks in the distant background (I think those are smoke or clouds? or maybe a break in the cloud cover?) look a little stagnant compared to the rest when you shift around. I really don't mean to be nit picky! They just jump out at me since they're so prominent.
Thanks! That’s actually quite useful. This is basically just a test I’ve got a bunch more that are in the works right now so feedback is actually very useful so I don’t repeat mistakes. I see what you mean they should be moving differently to the background.
I'm glad to help (and that you weren't upset by my comment)! Even just a slight wavering or shifting would be enough, but I'll leave that up to your judgement.
I hope you'll share more shots like this, but I'll be excited to see what you post regardless >v< Your art is very inspiring for me!
THIS brings back some VERY VIVID memories of a car ride with 5 other people exactly 31 years ago today, where we phase=shifted dimensions. Nearly didn't get back! And the Mustang only lasted about a week afterwards. IF anyone ever sees a wall of...."fog"....that looks like this (color might not much matter, I'm really not sure), DO NOT GO IN! If you do, STAY ON THE ROAD and DO NOT OPEN THE DOORS FOR ANY REASON!!!!! The ONLY way out is STAYING ON THE ROAD YOU CAME IN ON!
