Sakujun Color by Wakagi-chan Sakujun Color by Wakagi-chan
Ahh, I've been feeling like doing this for a long time, and finally done: I took and colored :iconnatasmai: s wonderful deviation, "Sakujun" [link]

I wasn't going to post it at first, but then changed my mind (thought it might make a great wallpaper for some. ;) )

Sorry, ahead of time, for the shadows. I had to use a very thin sheet of paper, so it was all swollen after I was done with mixing in the water. :( (You can find the dry version in my scraps gallery.)
And err... OK I know he was supposed to have rainwater over his body, but after a week of non-stop Hellsing Ultimate I couldn't keep myself from going nasty and putting some blood over him ^_^' .

I used a stabilo 0.4mm and a stabilo #68 for the contour and aquarelles for coloring.

Enjoy the pic! Leave some comments! :)

I LOVE IT!! I am truly honoured that you've decided to colour it, you did a fantastic job! I think I going to try and finish the doujinshi, I have regained my motivation.

(And it is supposed to be blood, hahahaha. But actually rain water works quite well too)

Ahhh I'm so glad you like it!!! :squee: Thank you very much!

And YAY! We all really want to see that doujinshi; can't wait to see it.

It is supposed to be blood? Great! Good that I "followed my instinct" instead of logic, after all.

Ahhhh ... so lovely to see this piece finished/coloured! :iconbwavoplz: :iconnatasmai:'s original was a powerful piece.

Liked that you chose a very muted colour palette .. the soft greys and blues suit the feel of a dreary rainy cloudy sky .. and suits the feel of his loneliness. And that is a lovely colour and shade for his hair ... actually, I like that even better than the colour the anime gave his hair!

Ah yes, the warping is quite serious ... you need to do some stretching ([link]) to prep the paper (but you did say it was a very thin paper, so it may be difficult).

Ahh, I fell in love with the original *love at first sight* I wish :iconnatasmai: had finished that doujinshi :iconcryforeverplz: I'm glad you liked the hair color! It took me a while to choose the right one! And thanks for the link! Once I was looking for stretching tutorials, but couldn't find a decent one. However, this paper was VERY thin. I would probably accidentally rip it apart after soaking. :S

And she had just three frames to go to completing the doujinshi!! :iconinucryplz: That link I gave you actually sounds rather 'brutal' ... I saw one here in dA that is probably gentler on the paper, if I can remember where I saw it! I think it was in one of the watercolourists groups ...

Ahah! found it! ... [link] ... hope this helps ...

Wa-haaa! This link is awesome! And yeah, it definitely is more gentle- no bathtubs involved. :D

and no staples and no gum tapes! wet sponge and heavy books sound much more manageable
