Looks like Pinkie found yet another physics textbook!
Here's the phenomenon I made fun of this time, for those of you who aren't eggheads.

reminds me of a "one way force beam" device in a VERY old Buck Rogers comic strip i read in a book...

Pinkie's like the Orks from Warhammer 40k. If she thinks something is true it becomes true.

And on this day in Equestrian History the Element of Laughter betrayed the element of Magic and committed her first act of Regicide by assassinating Princess Twilight Sparkle!

Twi's horn looks like it could do some serious melee damage in this.

Eeyup. She's got some really powerful magic, so I give her a powerful horn to go with it. It may be a tiny bit overkill here, but oh well.

I was just saying it looked really sharp and could do some severe physical trauma.

Light has momentum, which means a flashlight will push things in its path. It doesn't have very much momentum though, unless of course you're Pinkie Pie. :)

Read the wikipedia article I linked in the description for more info on that.

And then read further in the comments to see how MUCH energy that would take ;)

Gravity Gun,  or Dragon Thuum Torch?

Probably both. =P

Dang.

It's actually emitting magical gamma rays. Really, really high frequency gamma rays, which magically interact with everything exactly like visible light other than having way more momentum.

Oh, and by the way, magic can't hold back E=pc forever, so I would recommend not being there when the massive amounts of energy catch up. I recommend at least getting out of Ponyville before you stop to do the math about what minimum safe distance is.

Ive been studying and theorizing the ways to use force power (not the starwars one I have absolutely no Idea what that even does) but the potential, kinetic and other energy that gives and requires force.

But I never thought of a flashlight to do something like that. Seems someone enhanted the light molecules to have some solid impact to whoever get hit with it.
DynamoDazzle's avatar
Light particles DO have an impact, it's just very weak.
DeadlockAt's avatar
Yeah but my character can manipulate, create and syphon force. Thats his only ability. So if he uses that flashlight he'll probably do things like that.

Ive been studying the kinds of force to create his ability and seeing that flashlight work, I've expanded my research .

A flashlight would be a terrible way to focus a force ray. Know third law of newton: Any force will be carried by an equal force in the same direction and oposite sense.
How much does a flashlight weight? Not much, meaning a lot of speed against the holder to cope with the required newtons, leading to the greatest recoil ever. That can severely hinder accuracy and handling.
A railgun, on the other hand, would progressively acelerate your enchanted light, lowering the recoil. Or you can mount the weaponized flashlight into something that could take the impact instead of you/your levitation magic.
DeadlockAt's avatar
I know that law. But the force of recoil can be absorbed by him or something so the force ray will only go one way. Now that you mentioned this. Pinkie didn't even got pushed back when she pointed that thing at twi.
