Last year I did the Drawloween Art Challenge of doing a Drawing a day for all 31 days of October. Each day had a prompt like Draw a Ghost, Draw a Pumpkin, Draw Frankenstein, etc. It was fun and challenging. Although I did get behind a couple of times and combined two or three days into one image. So I did 22 drawings total, but included all of the images. the stress of trying to get every image done did take away from the fun of the project a bit.
This year, I looked up the prompts for both Drawloween and InkTober. Drawloween was similar to last year. in drawing specific things. However, Inktober used one word prompts like Hungry, Fast, Slow, Big, Small, Burn, etc. I really enjoyed the freedom of the single word prompts. They left the interpretations and focus up to me, as the artist. Also, the InkTober home page said not to sweat it if you can't do all of the images. If you're really busy, just do the drawings for each Saturday. That's only 4 drawings for the whole month.
October 6th was the day I started. And I managed to complete 13 illustrations by the end of the month. I figured 13 was a good number for the month of October and it is 31 backwards!
