The Zeven Provinciën and sloop Souburgh off the coast of Flusing (Vlissingen), the Netherlands.

The Zeven Provinciën was built in 1665 as the new flagship of the Seven United Provinces (Zeven Verenigde Nederlanden). With her hull spanning 151 feet and carrying 80 cannons, she was the largest ship in the Dutch fleet.
She participated in the Four days battle, the Raid on Chatham and many others.
As famous as her, was her commander; Lieutenant-Admiral-General Michiel Adriaansz. De Ruyter.

I think this took me about 20-30 hours

Beautiful ship.

What I hate about the Batavia werf's website, is that there is   pretty much no gallery or  picture page, no place where one can actually see the progress on the  DZP.

Het schip is echt fantastisch! Als enige tip zou ik zeggen dat je wat meer aandacht kan besteden aan de figuurtjes, door ze iets meer een hint van kleding te geven ofzo. Tenzij je ze me opzet simpel hebt gehouden?

Ja...

I know your hands are full making those drawings. I was thinking perhaps someone could do you the honour of colouring it. Nice work, for sure, just the way it is. :D

Ahhhh the Flagship of Michiel de Ruiter.

In the Netherlands, their actually building a 1:1 scale fully functional replica of this awesome vessel at the Bataviawerf in Lelystad.
It already looks AWESOME, but It's far from finished.... and given the financial problems of the organization, no one knows when it will be finished.....

Yeah, I know; I'm a Dutchman myself. I live in one of the old admirality-cities in which De Ruyter was born.
They say that the Zeven Provinciën will be finished in about ten years.
And if I remember it correctly, the original ship was finished in 8 months.
But alright, thanks for the fave.

Living in de Ruiers home-town? That's pretty darn cool man!

Not to long ago I worked for the Bataviawerf as a graphic designer.
I restyled/remade their entire tour guide, and made a poster and flyer for their VOC day.

Here is my Poster:

Mhmm, it's pretty cool. Vlissingen is actually in the background of the drawing.
I work at De Ruyter's employer's former home; the Lampsinshuis from 1641. It's turned into a museum now, with quite a lot of De Ruyter's possessions and memorabilia. (e.g. his cane, biography, portraits, letters)

And awesome that you worked there at the werf! It's a nice poster you've made too.
I still have to go there some day, but it's so long of a drive...

Dude, you have one hell of a job! De Ruiter was Awesome XD
And you should really check The Bataviawerf out some time, it STILL is Awesome :)
