I'm breathing in rage
Exhaling fear
My lungs can't scoop it out of my blood
Quite quick enough
But that'll have to do
I'll have to weather the rest
Of these feelings I'm not allowed to get off my chest
If I was stronger than my eyes; I wouldn't have them
The room is spinning
I'm quite drunk
It's the only method I've got
To dull the edge on this funk
It's the eve of losing a friend
Just cause I told her
She was on my mind
Didn't know I was only supposed to think about her... on her time.
I'm dripping snot
My eyes are leaking
Not what I was seeking
I didn't ask to be attracted to you
I just am
That is me
Sorry

Tell Me A Tale Of Tomorrow
Tell me a tale of tomorrow;
Where will I be when I'm there?
My life is a mess,
So it's anyone's guess.
Hello, does anyone care?Sing me a song of the future;
Look into your crystal ball.
What is the news;
Am I singing the blues?
Have I fallen; how far did I fall?Time is a very good teacher;
Death is the king of kings.
Which ever you choose,
You really can't lose.
It's not over 'til the fat lady sings. copyright Tom Wilcox 2004

Tale of a Written House (A Choose-Your-Own Ending)
Do you
happen to know about
that old house deep in those Dark Woods
with broken shutters that flap at each stray wind gust
like eyes which always creak open a bit
as if to see if anyone has at last arrived
to seek a place where they might stay
even for
just a
short
while?
You walk to the end of its short walkway
where the house nestles beneath the canopy of intertwined trees.
Serrated, amber-hued leaves cover the entire roof.
