MONUMENTAL BRASS STUDY
A pen, pastel and gouache study of a Monumental brass held in the V&A. This memorial brass dates back to the mid 15th century depicting a knight in his Armour. Memorial brasses were fitted onto the lids of tombs and memorial slabs to commemorate the lives of the medieval people and offer hope for their spirits.
Museums such as the V&A are a great resource for Artists to study artwork from the past. I believe developing as an artists involves exploring the creativity within yourself often inspired by the artistry of others.
