Been meaning to post some of this work, I haven't even done so on our main site, I worked on so damn many of them I never got round to building a gallery for them -_- Bad Mike. Anyway this is clearly one of those Transformer dudes and I didn't draw it, the talented Don Figueroa did, I rendered the colors. This was one of around 200 Transformer bots I did CG colors for during my one year stint with the defunct and now resurrected comic publisher Dreamwave. I worked on all 8 of the Transformers More Than Meets The Eye profile books. It was fun while it lasted but sadly as noted Dreamwave imploded. Here's to seeing the new Dreamwave getting back on the right track, there sure was a ton of talent there and I was happy to participate. I'll post more of my favs here and there as I go

PERFECT! YOU A FUCKING GENIUS! Though I plan to hand draw my own Smokescreen in robot and vehicle mode I honor you and curse photoshop even more! But before I lament on my own, can you be kind enough to check out my own G1 Transformer who is simultaneously paired with a certain girl from the Hyuga clan? They're right here at this [link] and I will thank you in some way, leave me a comment on my artwork please? Thank You for your cooperation.

Thanks
By the time I had gotten to this one (I think it was in the 6th more than meets the eye book) I had coloring Transformers down to a science. There were a ton of awesome colorists on those books but I know from the volume I got I did more than some of them did in sheer numbers. Apparently, so I was told, I was one of their fastest colorists on those books so I got them in big batches to color. After awhile it just gets routine, you get it down.

I realize I didn't hit the reply button in your comment box for my initial reply so I wanted to add another here. In regard to you doing good coloring just keep at it, practice, practice, practice. Paint ANYTHING, quick paints get used to how colors work in CG and keep working with it. It can take time to become really comfortable and to be honest you never stop learning, I know I haven't stopped. Just keep at it and look to all kinds of inspirations, not just anime or more commercial artworks.

*grin* agreed
i dont look just at anime, i look at almost everything and go wooo
ahaa and you never stop learning.. ahh how much i agree with that haha
