A custom Dies Shettier with a more aesthetically Deco-ish driven design.

This recent batch of weapons is as much new ideas for potential designs as they are experiments in emulating differing textures in a simple and effective way. We have a few different surfaces on this gun which is part of the designers intent for it's aesthetics. The top slide is a classic gun blue appearance. The bottom frame a parkerized composite material. The hand grip is a resin that simulates the look of Catalin without the brittleness. The grip was fun to create, the "marbling" textures were done by hand in Photoshop to simulate the swirling look of classic Catalin and Bakelite products of the 40's Deco era.

This was also one of the thumbs on this sheet [link] the stubby little gun dead center so it bears little resembelance to the original thumb. Digital full paint conversion Photoshop CS3

Why don't we see guns like this today, they're starting to look more and more alien sometimes.

The gun design is a little outlandish, but that is some damn fine artwork.

Aye, it is a bit out there but that was half the fun. Glad you dig the art and thanks for the comments man :)

I love the flowing lines. Interesting grip detail. Nice job on the brass work too.

aha i see, looks great. Have you considered sculpting them and casting resin replicas?

Thank you :) If you are referring to the hand grip as to "brass" that's actually a stronger resin (in the story's setting) similar to Catalin or Bakelite [link] No brasswork on this weapon though there was one I had planed to feature a brass or bronze finish on part of the gun ;)

LOL hows the project coming along ?

Hey man, how are you doing?

It's coming along well enough but my focus is simply to have fun creating as much art as I can and sharing (non-spoiler stuff) with all you guys. I have a TON of stuff in the wings kinda piling up now O_O So there will be a lot of new work. This project is as much the intended pitch as it is an exploration of diverse design aesthetics of a fictional setting on a pretty large scale. It's a blast to create this stuff and hopefully the work will continue to express that :)

LOL the hard work is already showing off bro, trust me. From what i see in store what you and your buddies have in store for us. Its gonna be one heck of a major storm you guys will be creating. :D

Thanks a lot man, I appreciate that :) I hope we continue to do something interesting. I have no idea who's really watching this stuff anymore, if you know what I mean, so I just plan to keep putting it out there and keep opening opportunities and contacts for the best way to see this made as a final product. in the meantime there will be a lot of interesting glimpses into the setting of Theos, whether it be props, FOILs, sendai, characters, scenes, etc. Working on some new stuff right now and it should show up here in the next day or so ;)

Hahaha you guys should work with DA and post a banner in front of the start up page in DA. Give more exposure on what you guys are doing. ;)

I have a few things I'd like to try but I need to catch up getting some of the work that is piling up finished XD I know the net can be an interesting place to test out something like this and I plan to do it without forcing the work down anyone's throat. I hope to see it kinda grow naturally if possible but indeed the more exposure always the better.
