Constitution of VuePort

Welcome to VuePort, deviantART's community of Vue artists. Join us as a Member, and show your art to the world!
Got some questions? Here are some guidelines to helps you.

1.) Terms Of Entry

:bulletgreen: Anyone wanting to learn about Vue is welcome to press the "DevWatch" button and then watch the images coming in and ask the artists how they did the work so they can do it themselves... however if someone wants to become a member then they *MUST* have some appropriate artwork in their galleries already. If you are rejected to the group we will give you a reason and all applicants are very welcome to apply again at a later date :).

2.) Submission Rules

:bulletblue: How many submissions are allowed per day?
You can submit up to 3 deviations to our Gallery per day.

:bulletblue: Can I submit renders with characters or imported objects in the scene?
Yes, using imported objects and characters is allowed. However, because there is a Poser dedicated group (poseraddicts) we have decided that most poser work should be posted there. If you post Poser work to the gallery and it is rejected it is because we believe the balance between Vue and Poser is not sufficient for our galleries. Please do not be offended as this is purely a measure to keep as many group members happy as possible. :)

:bulletblue: Am I allowed to do any postwork on my renders?
Yes, some postwork is allowed, though your work must be at least 60% Vue work and clearly show usage of Vue in its creation.

:bulletblue: What gallery should I submit to?
if you are having trouble choosing a gallery then just submit it to the "general" tab. As admins we are highly active and like to keep the images in each gallery accurate to that specific style so we may move images to and from galleries. Please do not feel offended if we move your image but if you would like an explanation as to why then feel free to send us a note and we will do our best to our reasons.

If you have any further questions, just let us know! :)

:bulletred: All rulings of the staff for any dispute is final.

Hi! On behalf of Cirstyn I'd like to announce a Vue competition running from July to August 19, the details of which can be seen here www.facebook.com/login.php?nex… I hope that link works since I can't get to it myself since it'll be a cold day in hell before I join Facebook myself but I bet there's a lot of potentially willing participants on here who might want to give it a try!

The contest theme is based around the use of Ecosystems, one of Vue's most clever aspects that can be used in many creative ways, from a simple forest to something really bizarre involving other objects or models. Your PC's are no undoubtedly going to get a workout on this event and you might end up standing out in the eyes of a guest judge. If Facebook doesn't work you can also find information (and rules) here www.northern-studios.com/vue-c…

Don't forget! e-on software is running their annual 3D environment competition now too www.e-onsoftware.com/news/blog… Some past finalists have sometimes been only as complicated as a terrain, some vegetation and a very nice looking atmosphere. So it's always worth a try. Good luck! :trophy:

I only decided to check Cornucopia for the first time in ages recently and was shocked that it had gone. Have no idea what's happened to it though :(

As I understand it late last year they were hacked along with E-on software, and hacked bad. I didn't get anything from them and have wondered since if card info was taken or if they even know. Maybe a month later my card was used so someone got the info. As far as I know there has been no mailing and no official announcement as to what happened and when it will be back. I had emailed them and Barry the community manager (very nice guy btw) answered that they had been hacked and it looked like it would be awhile until they can come back. That's been 7 months that I know of. Vue is a very buggy old and cranky software at best for me and i'm replacing it. I've never spent the time to learn all its power but i've seen that in its power its amazing. Going forward for me to make it my main software they would need to fix and change some things and that will never happen. That said it's still fun to play with and I enjoy it when I have the time.
E-on's site is back up and from what I gather if you should need anything just email them there. As far as I know though there is no access to old purchases of assets and no access to buying new assets. I don't know exactly what's going on but I wouldnt think it would take 7 months to build a website. So I consider Vue as dead.  Sorry, but havent had my coffee yet

I had no idea that was why :O I haven't bought a lot of stuff from Cornucopia 3D myself but if they never go back online then that's probably a good thing for me. It'll be sad to see Vue get harmed by this event though. While I agree that trying to get it to do what you want is frustrating at times, it's still such a unique piece of software and I owe a lot of my best illustrations to it. I certainly don't have time to invest into learning something else all over again :stare:
