This is a LOT more like the harassed and exhausted beauty who has led her nation through the fires of struggle, than any other idealised, sanitised depictions I have seen. (I guess the French get considerably more choice in their own country than others do, though.) No flag-waving here: just determination, concentration, resilience - tremendous grace under pressure.

Excellent characterisation, and with great economy of means too.
