The Banuk Huntress

Finally, I new picture! Aaaand also a new character!

I have been in love the Horizon Zero Dawn from the first moment I've played it one year ago and I always planned on creating a character based on the game. So last year I decided that my character was going to be a Banuk, since their culture and and appearance really appealed to me. However, I never got around on drawing said character or developing her, since my job always got the better of me!


BUT then the the DLC Frozen Wilds was released and I finally managed to create my HZD character!
So here we have her! Her name is Inutai and she was a huntress from a werak that was banned from Ban-Ur.
Inutai, daughter of the werak's chieftain and its shaman made their way from Ban-Ur into the snowy wilderness of the Cut, to find a new place to stay. However, on their way the werak is attacked by a number of deadly machines. The machines kill most of the werak's warriors. While being almost ripped into pieces by a machine, Inutai witnesses another werak approaching the battle and helping them fighting the machines. Yet Inutai is so badly wounded that she looses conscience due to blood loss.
Her mother, the shaman, and her are the only ones who survived the machine attack and are brought to Song's Edge by the other werak led by a strong warrior and chieftain named Katatuk.
Song's edge is also the birthplace to Ourea and Aratak, who will play an important role in Inutai's life.
After Inutai recovered, she barely remembers what happend and why her werak left Ban-Ur. The chieftain offers her to either become part of his werak by passing a difficult trial or leave their settlement.
Since Inutai doesn't have a place to go, nor any left family members or members of her own werak she decides on taking the trial.
The trial she has to pass is the same young men and women have to pass when wanting to become warriors, consisting of surviving several nights out in the bitter cold of the mountains and fighting a bunch of dangerous machines all alone.
However, it doesn't really go as planned as the machines which appear are far too strong and have never been seen in this region before. Against the rules of their tribe, Inutai and Aratak - who took the trial to finally become a warrior like his father-, join their forces and help eachother through the trial against all odds. That is also the beginning of their friendship.
Afterwards, Inutai is admitted into the werak and Aratak becomes a warrior.
Inutai still tries to recover her memories and wants to remember what really made her former werak leave Ban-Ur. It is not possible though. Aratak's sister Ourea, an aspiring young shaman, offers to help her with consulting the 'spirits'. Inutai accepts her help but also knows that this way they had to break with the werak's rules again. (...)


So that is only a small small part of the beginning of Inutai's story. I haven't really figured out all the details, so that is also the reason for Inutai not having a 'real' character profile sheet' yet. but it's still to come
So the main part of this story takes place before the Red Raids and loooong before Aloy enters the cut. So it mostly revolves around Aratak and Ourea's youth and a big part of it - Inutai, who will be Aratak's wife and family, which he is going to loose throughout the story. And which also contributed to making him the gruff and stoic man he is when Frozen Wilds takes place.

_{So, Drama Queen Berylunee has her fingers on the story again and kills everybody and makes everybody cry. I love it. Sue me :')}
