Freighter 3

One thing that I really appreciate about my new job is that I have more time than I've had in quite a while.  I've gotten back into painting recently.  Although I had some experience with acrylics, I've tried my hand lately with oils for the first time.  They're a very different medium, but I'm really enjoying them.  Since they stay wet, it feels almost like a cross between sculpture and painting: one can blend each new layer of paint with the previous one to create very subtle effects.

This is my third attempt with the medium.  The space ship is an original design.  Oil on canvas, 23 cm x 30.5 cm, painted 29 and 30 September 2019.
