This was a request from someone. Hope this helps! This is only part one, I've already started Part 2, but this should open some eyes on how to create those Save buttons. If you have a question, don't be shy and ask it! Promise I won't bite. ^_~
THAT.... is a damn good question.
I wanted to continue working on projects with Novelty and showing peeps how to work with the program, but life sort of got in the way of my updates. And due to some medical reasons, I stopped getting on the comp as often, HOWEVER. About six months after the medical complications of my life, I was working on rebuilding some stuff I had lost and kinda rearranging my life in general. I got updated - got myself some new equipment, started working on commissions, and going to college. Great, right? But that also took my online life away because I was simply too busy and tired to do it all. Eventually, I kind of stopped coming to DA, and even my posts are becoming few and far between. And now, with this awful new update with DA, it's kinda hard to navigate on my iPad, and I'm not even sure if that's just because they don't support mobile anymore.
ANYWAY, Novelty, for some odd reason, is incompatible with my Windows 10 on my PC, I've never been able to get it to ACTUALLY work, which is kinda why I stopped updating anything for Novelty. I sort of half-switched over to TyranoBuilder, and unfortunately, even THAT didn't quite stick with me. Nowadays, I don't even do template work anymore. I just doodle, do commissions, and watch tv - though the tv is usually last on the list IF I've got time...
Currently, my life is just kinda blah. I still do school work, but it takes a crap ton of self discipline just to do the stinkin work. And lately I've barely even been focusing on commissions. My friends have been inviting me to play on games such as Warframe, Guild Wars 2, GTA V, so on and so forth, and I'm KINDA playing games but even that's kinda few and far between.
I recently got diagnosed with depression, low thyroid, and bipolar disorder, which kinda makes it difficult to live day-to-day as well. So I do apologize. Though all of this is mostly just a summary of things I've been having to deal with for years, it's taken me THIS LONG to finally even be doing anything with my life.
I do apologize for the... six year delay, but I have no clue where to even start after this tutorial. Hell if I can even recall where it is. (I probly gotta go read the tutorial again...) But if I remember right, I use to link my screens together with buttons. The button has to be coded a special way to "close" a screen and then "open" another screen, which I sort of figured out by looking at the "help" files in the folders. (But also because @8oni helped me out, too! Which figured out the rest of the puzzle. X3)
So yea, sorry for the novel, and you're lucky I even saw this. I so rarely log into DA now, and I was mostly checking my messages in case of commissions, so I'm glad I was able to get in a response! Sorry for such a novel, but hopefully this answered your question! X3
Again, sorry for the inconvenience! Though lately I noticed I’m getting random questions about Novelty. I’m quite familiar with it, almost like the back of my hand, so I can remember little details even if I don’t have it right in front of me to walk someone through it, but who knows? Maybe this weekend I can re-download the program and see what I can do about the second part of this tutorial. Hopefully I can help everybody out with that. Kinda ridiculous that I’ve left so many in the dark till now. >.< But we‘ll see! Good luck on your project!
I just re-read the entire tutorial.
This tutorial is actually pretty much done. I'm not sure why I said "Part 2" cuz I can't think of what I was going to add to it 6 years ago... BUT I did download Novelty. It's up and running on my PC so now I can help peeps out! X3
Right click on an object in your asset library and open it up in Designer. Set a filter for it. Go to the "scripting" mode and look for that Filter. When you type inside that filter, you can type in something like.... my characters\pix\girls or whatever kind of filter you are looking to name them as. Those subfolders are created with the backwards slash. Unfortunately, from what I have learned, there's no easy way to go about it so you'll have to go one-by-one. >.<
When you import assets, go to the settings tab. You can create folders that way by using the backwards slash like I mentioned earlier. (They didn't have this in my older version of the program...>.<) It'll ask for confirmation on creating the folder, so just hit yes or Ok. Lol
