Night flows through the window
Cooled and cleaned by rain
Soothing the skin, slowing the beat.
The rhythm of water drifts away.
Thoughts disjoint and unravel.
Then darkness envelopes.
Today, was an ordinary day.
Beloved cheep Chines food, an early supper
Errands and groceries, as the rain started to sputter.
Purchases stored away, and trash removed, with no undue delay.
Video games played as one.
Our Sardonic banter ebbed and flowed
Digital foes vanquished and levels bestowed.
Sleep ultimately won, as time wore on, and declared the day was done.
I am left by myself, but not alone.
Earlier events made banal with redundancy
Of the day all I can recall is the laughter and the company.
No adulations over blown, nor events worthy of being intoned.
You were simply you, and I was simply me
Yet somehow it was enough, to be ext
