A New Found Love for Comic-making

Sun Apr 23, 2017, 6:41 PM
Hey, everyone!

I promised the updates for my comic, and the results have been unveiled! Here's a little more about it, including a sneak peek into what I'm currently doing! :D

It will be organized in my Netheron group Netheron-Chronicles as well, under the comic's name. I will try my best to keep the pages in order, as well XD

So what's the title?

I think this picture will tell you it:

Lock Me Away Comic Cover v3 by Vivyi

The title is Lock Me Away Marcilyn Locket. Just like the previous WIP comic, but with an additional story line. It might be more complex than what I was originally going for, as it takes elements from the original story, and pairs it with elements from THIS short story: Lock Me Away, Marcilyn Locket...Marcilyn Locket was no good, short, and unfortunately clumsy. Every time the princess assigned her to do a task, Marcilyn handled it in the worst possible way. She'd knocked over equipment, lose Estelle's goggles... and even lost important tools. When it came down to inventing a machine, she'd find herself drawing a blank on planning ideas, and sometimes: she even purposely coaxed the princess for ideas. In the end, she was a complete, utter mess and she knew it.
It seemed ever since Estelle had brought her back to Netheron from the Palace of Henna, Marcilyn knew they'd be great friends. Truth be told, Marcilyn knew Estelle liked having her around. She wasn't much taller than the self esteemed inventor: she stood only around five feet, two inches tall, with a crazy little grin. A grin so peculiar... yet so honest. She was lean and limber: and Marcilyn was secretly envious of her hourglass figure, that the princess flaunted wildly with her charm. The young inventor was only two inches s

I just wanted to make that clear. It's the same way as my short stories - they each hold their own special truth to what Netheron is, but they aren't actually a part of the novel series in itself. Official short stories change with plot adaptations, and are highly experimental, though still deliver backstory and substance accurately.

This off branch, should I continue and make another comic book series based off of this story...will follow each other just like the novels of Netheron do.

I should also note, I do not plan on publishing these comics anytime soon since they just practice after all.  c: So they will be available to read for free :D

The Summary is as foretold

Lock Me Away, Marcilyn Locket! is a comic series dedicated to both the parts of the first book, Drethathon, as well as the short story of the same name.

It takes place from the viewpoint of Marcilyn Locket, a prominent character in the Netheron series. A genderfluid inventor, they're in love with a princess named Estelle, and struggle with outing themselves to her.

A threat is overtaking the kingdom that causes more tension between Marcilyn and Estelle's mother, Margarette. Marcilyn is suspected to be the kidnapper of princess Yvette - but what was actually a kidnapping, was a run-away scramble from an evil source - a scramble that broke into an ultimate loss.

Can Marcilyn convince Estelle that they have nothing to do with who Yvette is now? Or does Estelle already know?

I changed the summary as of 4/30/17 because I accidentally made it sound like this was all about Marcilyn's gender, and of course, it's NOT. I would not do that! This story is not focused solely on Marcilyn's gender. Rather, it's more focused on Marcilyn and Estelle's past, as well as Yvette, and Marcilyn's gender just happens to be an element in the story. Just proves how bad I am at writing summaries... lol

This story will revolve around mainly romance and plot specific purposes, but share themes of identity and finding oneself.

The Due Date for the First Page of the Prologue is May 15th.

It was April 30th but got pushed back a bit, due to school work and last minute set ups. I might also be doing some last minute world building and such related to some of the main characters, though it most of it won't be necessary due to the character's borrowed influences from the main story. XD But there will be some key differences, including more of a focus on Marcilyn being the main character, versus Estelle.

Anyway, that is it for now  Sorry this took so long to put together!
