Marcilyn Locket by Vivyi Marcilyn Locket by Vivyi
So after my emotional adventure in poetry (In which I write my heart out to those in need in tears. ) I decided I would draw a design for Marcilyn Locket with my new photoshop. I filtered the heck out of this, I know... but look how cool it looks. :XD:

So I didn't want to leave my artist watchers feeling confused by the random poetry I wrote, so I drew this. It's basically like a reference, but I filtered it so much, the colors don't show very well. It was sort of like a test, to see all of the different options for photoshop and lightroom. So I basically tried every one. Yep.

I have a habit of generally putting too many filters on in photoshop. I treat my pictures like they are photographs. :XD: Oh well, I really enjoyed working on this... I know I should have colored the other pictures, but I've been in a very lazy mood lately, so I really do apologize.

I haven't gotten started on editing Netheron yet, but I know I should do it at some point. I've really been struggling with good work ethic because I've been gone from school and work for so long... but I do know I'll get started on it at some point.

Hopefully I've pulled off that Steampunk look like I've said~

It's very steampunk! I quite like how that doodle on the left came out. The line-less quality looks like something out of a storybook, and I love what those brushstrokes are doing to her hair and dress.

She's so cute! :happybounce: I love the steampunk look, it suits her a lot. I know how it feels to be torn between writing and drawing, but as long as you're taking at least a little time to do both when the mood strikes you, then it should be fine. I love reading your work but also like seeing your art. The photographed look goes well with the steampunk theme, in my opinion. It's what makes your art different, what makes it stand it. And that's always a good thing. <3

Daaaw thank you for the super nice comment. ;u; I'm glad she comes across as steampunk to you, I was worried it wouldn't look steampunk enough. :XD: I tend to work in a specific order, trying to challenge myself on a picture after I do a little poetry, or a short story or a chaptered story. I was working on a short story yesterday as well, but it's still not ready to post yet... it needs a lot of care and attention and I've been working on it for months. Aww and thanks. I'm glad you like my photographed look. It makes me happy. :)

You're welcome. :meow: Always always. c:

I noticed it right away. She really does look amazing. Challenging yourself is the best way to get better at what you do. Anyone can keep doing the same thing over and over, but that gets boring after a while. I think it's better that you're taking your time on it. Stories never come out as good if they're rushed.

Thank you~ :) I've never spent months worth on a short story before, but I've been working on it on and off because it's really special to me, and I don't want to make things screwy. It's almost ready for submission, but it needs something more, if you get what I mean. ;)

That makes a lot of sense. I have some stories that I'm really afraid to tackle for similar reasons... I'm afraid I'll screw it up really badly, but I guess I'll never know until I try. You are so welcome though, no need to thank me. ♥ I'm sure it will be awesome when you do finish it.
