Sweet! Lactation should show up more on paleoart. And those baby Daeodons sure are adorable!

Technically, the correct term for a young of an entelodont would be called a piglet.

I do love how you show a more caring nurturing side to these animals, who are otherwise so often demonized. Even by paleontologists.

I love it

Funny, I was really in doubt of which word use when translating it (pup or cub, but looks like piglet is more suitable indeed hehe). And many thanks! :)

Very cool! I like that it really looks like an animal rather than a monster:) (Smile)

Thanks! Every animal, even the more montrous ones, have moments of calm or serenity to be illustrated ^^

Lactation is a behaviour that you don't see very often on paleoart (let alone regarding the 'demonized' entelodonts), quite a novel idea! :)

Was what I thought, lactation by itself would be interesting to show on prehistoric mammals, even more with entelodonts :)

Beautiful Daeodon! Looks more like a normal animal rather than a permanently open-jawed monster

Thank you, Vasika!

As always, Vitor :D, as always! But do you plan to color it?
Vitor-Silva's avatar
No, this one will stay just with the inking :)

Wait, now, I don't remember if this was a digital of traditional....um...wait, what kind was it? :)
Vitor-Silva's avatar
Traditional, China ink on paper.

Ah, I've never actually worked with the stuff, but I do love me a good micron pen.

I think that it is the first time that I have seen the cubs of an entelodontid :)

I searched for images of this sort when had the idea and found none, too. I really liked the subject, and needed to draw it principally after seeing that apparently it wasn't illustrated before :D

Very nice, I love how you suggest its form with all the carefully drawn hairs.

Love the texture even if it's a black & white one! Are you going to color it in the next future? By the way, excellent work :)

Thank you, Danny! I'll keep this one only with the inking, black and white.
