Honoring All That Served

Veterans Day (November 11th) in the United States, it is the observance that helps preserve the historical significance of the date, but helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

In my family it is a family tradition to join the military, my great grandfather, grandpa, father, sister, brother, "ME" and my son served in Iraq and Afghanistan. My daughter is in the Army soon will be serving in Afghanistan.

I was in the Army from 1982-1988, I spent 3 years in Ludwigsburg & Stuttgart, Germany and 3 years in Louisiana. I went in as a Cryptological Technician so that is where my "computer geekdom" really started.

Note: This is simply to honor our veterans (fallen, past and present), do NOT make this a political debate. Please support our troops and veterans!

Both the flag and the military members are photos of mine that I took during a 4th of July parade.

Great picture, is it copy righted? I'm on the board of directors of American Military Family, a charity foundation that supports veterans and we might want to use it for our logo honoring those that served.

It is not copyrighted, the flag was from the parade and the service people are from Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, WA I think in that picture it might be hard to identify the people in it.  I would love to see your logo when you are done :)
This is a great picture. May I use it in a powerpoint (with attribution of course) about the Joining Forces Initiative, to illustrate veterans, to a nursing educational group?
Thank you

I thank you for your service, Michelle and all those who serve or have served :salute:

Thank you sweetie :)
I chose this visual in memory of so many ~~~ especially from my family, whom I shared good memories with and will always, always continue to hold dear !
I was fortunate to live surrounded by military personnel when growing up, to experience Scouting with excellent people, as well as learn furniture refinishing from a Colonel (!) ;-) and later, to work with those who had military training through Regional Center system in Southern California, where we could assist those with Developmental Disabilities and focus on keeping families together. Many on my caseload assignments from March Air Force Base... I have been blessed from the interactions and from those opportunities to assist, honor and respect personal objectives of those living with disabilities. Blessed, too, from learning about logistics in this country!
May the honoring return once again ~~~and even stronger~~~ for individual choices and freedoms, ensuring the best quality of life on earth and enabling ALL to bring glory to God. MCW //

I am glad you like it ;)
My daughter, Elizabeth, is 13 and recording an original song for our veterans. It's simply called, "Dear Veterans." Do you mind if we use your photography/artwork in her video? We plan to put it on YouTube and social media networks. It's a heart-warming and song from the heart of a young lady who loves her nation very much. Please let me know, my email address is drsams@gmail.com. We are putting together the video as I write this, so you immediate attention is much appreciated. Thank you, David Sams (PS: when emailing me, could you please identify yourself and give me a digital copy of the photography/artwork for our reference? We are requesting a handful of different images and I just want to make sure that we have the correct photo with the correct owner. Thank You).

Sure that would be fine.
What a beautiful photograph! We are a Mortgage company working on starting a program to train and hire Veterans in the mortgage industry. I have a slideshow on my homepage and was wondering if I could use this graphic for the program. Our existing site is at www.fdmhome.com. The new website is still in the process of being built so I cannot provide any view for you now. Please let me know if I can use the picture.
Thank you

This is a beautiful photo. I am a attorney who handles many Veterans legal matters in Michigan. We are having a free Veterans "Ask the Lawyer" day in October 2012, to sit down and answer legal questions for Veterans and their families. Our budget doesn't allow us to purchase art for our advertising, I was wondering if you would allow us to use this photo in our flyer. Can you please let me know? Thank you.

Me too, it is a hard life being a military spouse and member, I was both at one time.

I guess it must be pretty bad to deal with all this uncertainty and all, too. :huggle: Not knowing is one of the worst things in life, I think.
