Buy your SUPER COOL shirt here :: [link]

Millions of gallons of oil have oozed into the water since the April 20th rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Some estimates calculate the oil flow to be over 70,000 barrels of oil a day—making the BP spill already eight times larger than Exxon Valdez!

And we still don't know when it will stop.

So, Vision Haus :: Photography + Design, is now selling our "God Save The Gulf" T-shirts.

100% of all proceeds (after costs) will be donated directly to the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to aid in the cleanup and restoration of the entire Gulf Coast.

Not sure about the whole Union Jack theme considering BP is a multi-national company... whether that's what you by it intended or not it's kind of accusatory D:

Was this a pun on the British Sex Pistols' song, or a pun on the fact that in newspapers it's being called 'British Petroleum' when it's actually 'Beyond Petroleum' (I believe) now, since 2000?
Either way, I like it, as well as the fact that it's raising money for the NWF.
Congrats on the DD! :)

Wow, as a Mexican, Iīm very proud and very happy to see this design not only supports the situation,if not that even donates the money to the disaster that happened.

And I hate that in every news show, they say '' the bigges ecological disaster in the US'' what about Mexico? itīs the worst for us too!

Are you watching Mexican or American news? And has oil gotten to Mexico yet? I live in central Florida and we're lucky not to have oil yet, but if it hasn't reached Mexican shores then the fact that the US has had oil reach the shore makes America a little worse off at the moment.

I sometimes watch the Mexican, but they ever put more importance to USA :(
It hasnīt reached it yet, and well, thereīs a lot of danger that the changes of the ocean current and the hurricane activity can start pushing the oil into our shores, but yeah, both countries are in a very great danger, more the aquatic ecosystem of the Gulf.

Yeah, I'm worried about hurricane season. Hopefully it'll be a small one and will mostly hit the Atlantic coast. Not that i'm hoping they get hit, but of the two places, that would probably do less damage overall.

That's AWESOME! If I had some cash I would definitely get one!

Have you seen the "60 Minutes" interview with the computer technician that survived the explosion and all that he said about the 'higher-ups" telling them to skip safety measures, ignore broken equipment and make things go faster than they should?
Lemme tell you, ALL those people who said to ignore all that stuff need to be flown out into the middle of the oil spill and left there. They can swim back in their own filth!

I love what you're doing here to raise money. This disaster is not just a problem for the US govn't and all the money-hungry oil companies....this affects us ALL!
Very good design, well thought out. :)

With that said, as much as I agree with raising the money, God is not going to be what saves us from our own mistakes. The only way we are going to get through this is together, and people helping people to find a solution to this horrible accident.

But why a British flag, it has nothing to do with Britain. It makes no sense. Why not the US flag, that at least would make more sense.

It is such a shame about the oil spill, and hopefully they can get it sorted out soon. The shirt is a nice idea and i like how you've set it out, but i have to agree with the other people, and being English myself i do find this pretty offensive, i'm pretty sure you did not intend it that way, but using our Union Jack makes me feel as if you are putting the blame on us as a country, when that is not the case. I can see many other british people being pretty offended by this, but putting that aside, i think it is a nice idea that you are donating money to the cause.

First off... The graphic quality of this shirt could have been better. Because of the flag, from far away the only things you'll be able read first is "O SAVE H GULF." After all Red is a hot colour and stands out more than blue.

Next my concern is what the heck does the Britain flag and "God save the Queen" have to do with the American division of BP? It was in our capable hands, and was clearly neglected. So why blame another nation?

I guess since it's easier to pin this on some British guy. We all love scapegoats and who better to blame than a non-American? How convenient. I still like the novelty of the shirt's concept, but it's the wrong idea.

I agree with several people in the comments about the flag, as a British person myself I actually drew back from the computer in sheer disbelief. The words were funny, yes, but the flag did nothing but tick me off -.-

The charity idea is lovely though, and I don't wish to down the fact that this is a well thought of design that has been well presented.

Yup. Nice that they're giving the proceeds to a good cause, but using the Union flag as though the whole country were responsible is just offensive. I'm not going to bother repeating what everyone else has said, but this disaster was caused by private companies, not by the UK's government.

Read this, then design a God Bless America shirt please

The Bhopal disaster or Bhopal Gas Tragedy is the world's worst ever industrial catastrophe and occurred on the night of December 3, 1984 at the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. At that time, UCIL was the Indian subsidiary of the U.S. company Union Carbide Corporation (UCC), which is now a subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company. Around midnight on the intervening night of horror December 2–3, 1984, there was a leak of methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas and other toxins from the plant, resulting in the exposure of over 500,000 people. Estimates vary on the death toll. The official immediate death toll was 2,259 and the government of Madhya Pradesh has confirmed a total of 3,787 deaths related to the gas release. Other government agencies estimate 15,000 deaths.Others estimate that 8,000 died within the first weeks and that another 8,000 have since died from gas-related diseases.

Some 25 years after the gas leak, 390 tons of toxic chemicals abandoned at the UCIL plant continue to leak and pollute the groundwater in the region and affect thousands of Bhopal residents who depend on it, though there is some dispute as to whether the chemicals still stored at the site pose any continuing health hazard.

Over two decades since the tragedy, certain civil and criminal cases remain pending in the United States District Court, Manhattan and the District Court of Bhopal, India, against Union Carbide, (now owned by Dow Chemical Company), with an Indian arrest warrant also pending against Warren Anderson, CEO of Union Carbide at the time of the disaster. Greenpeace asserts that as the Union Carbide CEO, Anderson knew about a 1982 safety audit of the Bhopal plant, which identified 30 major hazards and that they were not fixed in Bhopal but were fixed at the company's identical plant in the US. In June 2010, seven ex-employees, including the former chairman of UCIL, were convicted in Bhopal of causing death by negligence and sentenced to two years imprisonment and a fine of about $2,000 each, the maximum punishment allowed by law. An eighth former employee was also convicted but had died before judgment was passed.

You should have paraphrased no one reads things on the internet anymore.

(But I read it.) There are hundreds of stories like that, globalization has allowed for some terrible shit to happen, and most of the American people remain completely ignorant of.

As someone has pointed out the B in BP no longer stands for British, though the link remains and the owner and operator of the rig is HQ'd in Switzerland.

BP no longer goes by the name 'British Petroleum' and hasn't for a long time. The company employs more American workers than British and has roughly the same number of shareholders in both countries (40% are British, 40% American).
BP is not a British company. The United Kingdom is in no way at fault here. Please if you have any interest in this situation research it yourself instead of lapping up what you see on TV.

I think donating the proceeds of a product to charity is commendable, however I think you chose entirely the wrong product. Instead of using some kind of wildlife related message you have decided to capitalise on anti-British feeling caused by general ignorance.
This oil spill is nothing like the 9/11 terrorist attacks, it was an accident caused by negligence, not a malicious attck on civillians.

This T-shirt isn't funny or clever, it's disgraceful and simply shows how little you really know about the situation.
