'God Save The Gulf' T-shirt by VisionHaus 'God Save The Gulf' T-shirt by VisionHaus
Buy your SUPER COOL shirt here :: [link]

Millions of gallons of oil have oozed into the water since the April 20th rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. Some estimates calculate the oil flow to be over 70,000 barrels of oil a day—making the BP spill already eight times larger than Exxon Valdez!

And we still don't know when it will stop.

So, Vision Haus :: Photography + Design, is now selling our "God Save The Gulf" T-shirts.

100% of all proceeds (after costs) will be donated directly to the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) to aid in the cleanup and restoration of the entire Gulf Coast.

Bravo! Very well said indeed.

I live in Pensacola, FL. Our beach is coated with oil 10 feet back from the waterline already. I don't have to watch television to see what's going on because I'm cleaning this shit up in my back yard.

Trust me when I say that NO ONE around here blames England at all. It doesn't even come up in the convo here on the Gulf Coast. Yes we're angry that BP was negligent on safety issues, but some anger is also directed to our government and it's sluggish reaction to the disaster as well.

With that said I do like this tee, though I can't buy it because I'm broke. Without tourism I don't make any money :(

Great message, goodlooking tee. Funny, would say I.
Alopochen Featured By Owner Jun 18, 2010
I think designs like this are great. You can get the message out very quickly by just wearing a shirt. Everyone can do a little somehing by donating a few bucks.

What really keeps me from buying this: the British flag. The joke with the Queen is fun and all, but to imply that this is all the fault of Great Britain is downright ridiculous and I can understand why many British would get angry about this.

After all this disaster is HUMAN ERROR. Not British error per se.
It was caused by a company. It wasn't like all British people decided to spill their oil into the Gulf

Again, I think the design is witty and the T-shirt is a good idea in general. The BP incident is horrible. But the British flag is offensive.
Jeffiina Featured By Owner Jun 18, 2010  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
I really don't like this. It's BP's fault, not UK's. I suggest you to read this journal, which is quite easy to understand, [link]

Though it's a great thing that you're donating 50% of the money to NWF.

i was going to buy one but then i thought hey stupid yank u forget BP has the most gas stations in america, has more americans on its payroll than anywhere else in the world, pays afortune to the us goverment in taxes then transocean have relocated to switzerland so they dont pay taxes haliburton is liken to god in the us seanate
so to recap you are a racist showing the brit should be the yank flag surronded by green backs and your racist president obuma.a statesman? more a bigot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we brits are so angry at you lot.holidays cancelled so no money in your tills and we brits make up the majority whoholiday there.but the us being so insular you dont know how much hate is against you .you americans are just loud mouthed are the biggest polluters on the planet.god bless america? god destroy america

That's a really nice block of text to read. If only your grammar and spelling were better. Oh, but maybe that's just the "stupid American" in me that's having trouble identifying your words.

It doesn't concern us how many BP gas stations are operating in the US, or what taxes they've payed to our government. It's on the record that BP neglected to follow numerous safety procedures and ignored the proper safety regulations necessary to operate the rig they were using. Even weeks after the spill, they've continued to lie and deceive throughout their pathetic excuse for a cleanup project. First they gave us grainy footage of the ruptured pipe, when apparently they had access to HIGH DEFINITION CAMERAS that were already monitoring the spill. Then they gave us bogus estimates of the rate of leakage that later proved to be far from accurate. There are so many mistakes on BP's part, that if I went over BP's negligent use of cleanup technology, their $50 million ad they used to get people on their side, Tony Hayworth's undeserved plea for his life back, and everything else that they've done wrong, I'd have a wall of text that could easily be mistaken for a hastily written book.

Oh, and nice job throwing your ignorance at us with that "racist president obuma.a" statement.

you are right about my spelling and grammar.sadly as usual you americans who have little axcess to real newspapers and tv media, are way off the mark.i have family in the family who can trace lineage back to 1640.thats probably more than you can even guess at .i holiday in the states and i work in the offshore industry but not in the states.why? your safety record is dismal.there was a cry of relief when the gulf of mexico was unionised.many american companys have been and are still being sued in your courts for injuries .and guess what? some of those fishing folk actually sued some offshore contractors for polluting the fishing grounds.its all in the senate hearings when as said the gulf was unionised. .and finally on the subject of HD Cameras.seeing what i see on my brilliant HD tv and knowing that the 2 main companys with their ROV,S are showing bloody good pictures.look in the top right hand corner next time you see the oil will see subsea 7 and the next one is oceaneering.subsea 7 a uk company with uk developement have the most up to date rov vessels in the world with the most upto date rovs on board.but you being americans can only thing that your technology is the best in the world .its not .so if you are so clever why are you using uk vessels,uk rov teams and and rov equipment.

sorry about obuma.he is a racists. any body who critisises another country for political gain is a racist.hes not to far off from the iranians president.we can laugh at the iranian presdent because he actually says thing that are funny.but youre guy? .i wont write anything else here except even you were going to take 50% from the sales.if that is the case then you are actually worse than the nutters who burn the american least they buy them to show their anger.good bye and goodnight as mr cronkite would say. a hero of mine

I shouldn't dignify this with a response, but I have to correct you.

I said that BP had been giving the press low quality footage while they already had Hi-Def footage. I didn't say that they never gave anyone HD footage.

it's immature to point out other people's leaders like that, I am an American, and though I do not support all Obama's policies, I recognize the fact that he is a leader, who is doing his best. For that he should be respected.

I'm afraid I can't agree that Obama is racist. He has the most reason not to be, having been looked down upon by various people for being partially African American, but also seeing racism defeated temporarily at his Inaugeration. Obama's Swearing-In Ceremony was one of the biggest and was viewed by very many people who were able to see beyond skin color, both there in DC and all over. I personally witnessed this when my whole school took time to view this event.

No one should be laughing at any of the "presidents" of Iran, Iraq or Affiganistan. I support the fact that Americans will hopefully being pulling out soon, though there are British soldiers over there, too. I'm thankful to the British for being such close allies with the USA that they would risk their people's lives for a problem more the USA's than anyone else's. The Middle East people deserve respect, too, though there leaders are often eccentric and violent, the people are not nessecarily that way. Even if the leaders say something offensive or violent, it should be taken seriously, not laughed at. They are in control of real people and real people are risking their lives defending them.

However, I also don't think the use of the British flag is appropriate here. Neither is the use of the word "queen". It is not all of Britain's fault and neither is it the Queen's fault. I do support and admire the fact that so much of the proceeds will be given to the charity for the wildlife in the Gulf.

I agree. Well said C:
Though I do understand that arrogance and ignorance have been shot both ways throughout this whole ordeal. It doesn't mean that the oil spill is the fault of any one country. BP's negligence is soley to blame. Bashing one another's place of origin isn't going to solve anything and it certainly isn't helping the gulf. Unlike this T-shirt (controversial as it may be) whose proceeds are going towards a good cause.
SunnyBlueDay Featured By Owner Jun 19, 2010  Hobbyist General Artist
thank so much

I agree, and blaming isn't goingt o solve it, only acting will. The proceeds definitley are going to a good cause, though, which I do really respect the artist for, though I wouldn't buy the shirt for the blaming on it.
