Finally the second in the Victorian Edinburgh Cycle!
This drawing has been through the mill and has taken quite some time to get it to the place it is now.
A reasonable enough state to share with you lovely folks.
Yes I am aware that the Perspective & some of the shadows are all over the place but I think you get what I was trying to achieve (& I may not be finished playing with it, I think it may need to go darker still).

But back to basics I sketched out the image in pencil first then inked it in with technical pens & a little bit of brushed ink.

The background is from a photograph taken by myself on location, another one of Edinburgh's fabulous Closes this one leading from Victoria Terrace through to the Royal Mile.

The couple comes curtesy of the wonderful mjranum stock Bodice Buster Project which I have mirrored, to improve the composition. You can find out more about this excellent photographer Marcus Ranum here on his main site www.ranum.com

Rather interesting design work on the walls and street. The lines and perspective came out well.

Thanks for the comment. I'm trying to do something a bit different, by combining abstract and realism in the same drawing but I'm still not 100% about the perspective :D
