Is a Group dedicated to Horror and Gore! Like the name says, visual works of a violently beautiful nature, but not completely limited to blood images. Any atmospheric, frightening, chilling horror works will be considered for submission. In fact the atmosphere is maybe more important than the amount of gore it contains.
It's a great place for all horror lovers to join, old (bloodied) hands, or deviants new to the subject. Come along and ask questions, get to know the people behind the gore. We're really not as scary as our work. Usually.
We are working to promote this valid art form and challenge the preconceptions of the genre.
What is horror?
Many people simply can't get their head around what is appealing about breaking out the fake blood, entrails and creating scary, horror atmospheres. It's true: horror is an acquired taste, though I'd have to say I believe fear is an integral part of us and our nature. Most people enjoy being scared and hiding behind the sofa when watching horror films, or listening to spooky ghost stories at bedtime and being too terrified to sleep. It's fun. Most people say 'eeewww' at blood but blood is an important part of us. It's our life force. Horror can raise important questions about the dark side of humanity which may be in each of us, and ultimately, something that is a certainty for us all: death. It just takes a little open-mindedness to start seeing through different (open) eyes.

What horror is not:
FAQ #284: Can we submit photographs showing actual injury, self-harm and mutilation?
Please do no submit self harm photography to this group. It will be declined. It does not portray 'horror' in the sense that this group goes for - maybe your circumstances are terrible, maybe they are not - but it is not welcome here. We will not glorify actual self harm. Thank you.
