Okay, so this is a odd choice to be my first art for 2018 but I will try to explain it. Today, I was just browsing through Channel Awesome when I saw that Nostalgia Critic were a guest in a review about the Philips CD-i console. For those who don't know or haven't seen any Youtube videos about it by Angry Video Game Nerd or anyone else, it is considered to be the worse fourth generation consoles made in the early 90s and it may been one of the reasons why so many were so skeptical when future consoles like the Playstation came out because CD based console games weren't exactly... Good at the time so to speak. Anyway, the video listed up some games I've never heard off, like Mutant Rampage: Bodyslam but I realized that I recognized the animation... And I was right. The game was developed by Animation Magic, the same guys who developed the Zelda CD-i games which is in turn mostly infamous for its animated cutscenes. But the funny thing is that the animation in the Mutant Rampage game, it's actually pretty good. Not perfect, but it does remind me alot of animated movies made in the 70s and some of the experimental shorts you saw in the animation showcase called Liquid Television that was around on MTV during the 90s. Anyway, Mutant Rampage is a side scrolling beat em up game like Street of Fury or Final Fight where you play as three humans (or naturals as they are called) and you fight gangs of mutated anthropomorphic maniacs. Tina Felina is the second boss you fight, and HOLY SHIT I just HAD to draw her. Seriously, look up the cutscenes for the game and you will see what I mean!
