Creating my Own Website

Don't worry I am not leaving Deviant Art, but I am planning on creating my own dedicated site. There are a number of reasons for this. 

1. Annoying moderation practices of Deviant Art. Mostly these are fine, but they negatively affect my novel Imperial Norway 2053. Some chapters are currently missing because of it.

2. Building something more dedicated around Imperial Norway 2053 for those of you who want to immerse yourself more into that world.

3. Being future proof. There is always the fear of getting kicked off the Deviant Art. The problems OhShinaKai faced earlier gave me a little scare.

Creating the art is just a part of what I do. My real love is for world building and I don't feel Deviant Art is really ideal for building the world of Imperial Norway 2053 and the Venus Spacing girls.

I am planning on using Ghost as a platform which allows me to create a newsletter. That means you can optionally get emails with newsletter updates from me. Now I personally hate getting email for anything, so I made sure to check that this can be turned off. So don't worry, joining my Ghost site would not require getting newsletters in the mail.

What is it in for you?

If you like my Imperial Norway 2053 world and characters then this site will make it easier for you to get into that world. The Deviant Art site is very hard to navigate for many of you. I believe I can make the material much more accessible so that you can go into overview of my different characters like Idun, Nora, Alvdis, Daphny, Jill, Carter Evans, commander Modgunn, supreme leader Haldis and so on.

I have wanted to write more about how I make my art. The tools and practices I use. It has always been intended for paid users. But Deviant Art is not really a good platform for written content promotion.

I made so many images that they can drown each other out. This site would be a chance to focus on the images like the best. So a stronger focus on quality over quantity. I would try to select the pieces from Deviant Art that has been most popular. 

New Paid Content

I am intending to integrate some kind of crypto currency payment options. That would be using e.g. Ethereum or Bitcoin. There are a couple of reasons for this. It is quite widely accessible as a payment system now and it allows anonymous purchases which I think is desirable for both you and me given the nature of the content sold.

My desire is to have a way to sell larger bundles of images. My tier access today doesn't give access to my full back catalogue. As access starts one month back from last content. It would be nice to have a way of giving access to older content. 

Given how many images I have made I don't feel it is fair to give full access to my whole back catalogue with a subscription. That is years of work and not fair towards those who pay 2-3 dollars for individual images.
