What is Victims comic jam?

The magic thieves are kidnapping dogs to steal their magic for their own evil purposes. Magic that many view as sacred, and should never be stolen from others. It has become risky to showcase one's magic because you will never know who is a friend and who is a foe. The thieves have started to spread even further, and there doesn't seem to be any solution in sight. Could old legends prove to be useful?

Victims is a comic jam about dogs that have based their lives around using magic - and about their struggle against villainous magic thieves. As the thieves grow bolder by the day, young and energetic Aana knows she has to stand against the thieves. She decides to find and get help from the long lost, legendary age-olds.

How does it work?

Comic jam is a term for a project in which multiple people work together to make a single comic. InVictims comic jam one of our artists makes one or more pages on their turn, and when they are done the next artist continues the story with their page(s) (occasionally we might help each other with pages), and then another and so on - every page is done mostly by improv by the current artist! We have the comic main plot in mind of course, but page-by-page events are mysteries even for us artists! In Finnish we call this kind of project "improsarjakuva", which literally translates to improvisation comic, but comic jam is more known term.

Victims is a translated version from the original Finnish version called Uhrit. The original comic has been on going from 2014 but we started to translate it to English in 2020, and several Finnish artists have participated in it. The comic updates irregularly but is still active.
