LoTR gandalf the grey plush, chibi style!

i saw the original lord of the rings trilogy at midnight showings. with the release of 'the hobbit' this month my husband and i have been rewatching the extended editions of the movies, then the commentaries on the extended editions, THEN the extras on the extended editions. we're both very excited!
anyway, something i realized in this most recent viewing is that gandalf is by far my favorite fellowship member and that i needed a plushie of him so i could CUDDLE HIM RIGHT AWAY.

i had a hard time tracking down an appropriate fabric for his beard/hair. for the last two months or so i've been checking out all the local fabric shops, ebay, random places online, and still couldn't find anything that looked good enough. last week after visiting a joann's in a city we try to avoid, we found this lovely, long graying fabric. he's pretty simple overall and i actually put gandalf together in just one day.

i'm totally bringing him to see 'the hobbit'. (not the midnight showing. i'm too old for that now. ;D)
