Wow, thank you so much, Jules! I'm really pleased that you like the image, and I appreciate the feedback. (I'm actually a bit speechless at the moment.) :D

Wow, my very first critique. Thank you very much, first off. :D

Yep, this is my first truly complex weave. As you said, I've included weaves in the layers of some of my mandalas, but never this intricate, and always just a layer or two. I'm pleased that you like this design. :aww:

Thank you for the pointers. You're right on the over/under lines. I can definitely see that making them stand out a bit more could be useful, especially in areas where the lines for the markings on the wings come into contact with them.

Yeah, splicing the pieces together would probably be pretty easy, especially in Flash. I hadn't really thought of it before, mainly because this version of the design was a sort of afterthought. I think I went through 12 variations of the final design using various colors and removing various combinations of lines before I finally got to the versions that I posted. Most of the variations were more like the other version of this design, where the full butterfly was left in place. This specific variation was sort of a lark to begin with, that I ended up really liking. :)

Thank you. I was a bit nervous starting out with such a non-regular shape (something I don't even do with my mandalas), so I'm glad it ended up looking solid. :)

I actually opened a couple of your deviations for a bit of visual and finger-tracing early on when I was still a bit overwhelmed by the concept of doing something this complex. Looking through the weaves that you and others did really helped my mind to wrap around the way the lines flow around each other in pieces like that. Thank you for the offer. I may have to take you up on that. :)

Good luck with the tutorial you have in mind, once you get the chance to create it, and congrats on finishing the new crane set. Again, thank you very much for the continued comments, encouragement, and critiques. They're very helpful and much appreciated. :thanks:
