Gamer's Christmas has come once again, and as usual, because I want to, I'm gonna share the trailers of the games that most appealed to me or I'm most looking forward to. I probably won't share from every press conference, but there will probably still be a lot of ground to cover here.
Luigi's Mansion returns, as we already knew, but this time, we get new features for the Poltergust, as well as a glimpse at our plot. Luigi and friends get invited to a haunted hotel, and it's up to Luigi to save the day from the spooky spectres lurking within. Still no proper release date, but nice to know it's still on course for this year.
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening gets a feature in the Direct as well. It looks like a very exciting remake of the Game Boy Classic, but now with the added feature of collecting Assets to build your own Dungeons! I love that and hope they make a full game out of it. Coming September 20th, 2019.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses gets a look, too. Doesn't really show much we don't already know, but the story features they show off are pretty cool. Still coming out July 26th.
Cadence of Hyrule comes out in JUST TWO DAYS! Sadly, I already made my game purchase for the month and have to wait. I look forward to checking out this neat Indie Crossover!
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 still looks really cool. Moreso than the Square Enix Avengers game they showed off, sadly. Look forward to it on July 19th.
Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games comes this November! Now with Sk1ting, Surfing, Rock Climbing 1nd M1ny Events both Old and New! I am quite intrigued by this.
The nw Animal Crossing title now takes place on a deserted Island, where you forage for supplies to build your town from the groun up. Very intriguing and exciting. Too bad we have to wait until March 20th, 2020 to play it.
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, introduced months earlier as an RPG Project retelling the events of Dragon Ball Z's story, from the Saiyan Saga to the Frieza Saga (revealed so far, at least), putting you in control of Goku throughout his journey. I don't have an Xbox One anymore, but this does look like it'll be exciting. Should be releasing in 2020.
I never grew up with this game of intense difficulty, but it is really cool to see this Rare classic get a fresh new reboot. Battle as Rash, Zitz and Pimple in 3-Player Co-Op and take on an army of foes when this game releases...eventually.
It's the next title in the critically acclaimed Tales franchise, surprisingly not shown off for a Playstation console for once. Tales of Arise certainly looks promising, but I wonder what exactly we can look forward to when it comes out in 2020.
Resident Evil 5 and 6 are coming to the Switch! Hopefully, they'll improve on the flaws that plague 6 to make it a better game than it originally was. Coming this Fall.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is looking even more awesome with each new piece of footage. Amazing combat, amazing music, amazing voice cast, amazing design for Tifa. I'm very excited to see this when it comes out, even if I can't exactly play it...The game will be released on March 3rd, 2020.
While we're at it, Final Fantasy VIII finally makes its comeback with a new remaster later this year, several months after 7, 9, 10, and 12. Hey, better late than never, for all you fans of 8 out there.
We also got our first glimpse at Kingdom Hearts III's DLC, and if you had any questions about it, worry not, this one answers none and adds more. Oh wait...Anyway, it comes out this Winter. Maybe another trailer will be shown at the conference today.
We already knew Persona 5: The Royal was coming, but here's our first look at the English version of the game, which will be reaching us worldwide in 2020. Also, congratulations, Laura Post for joining the cast as new Phantom Thief, Kasumi.
Of course, we got our peek at Smash Bros., too. The Hero from Dragon Quest, available in FOUR variants, comes to Ultimate this Summer...
...And Banjo - Kazooie are coming this Fall! Hoo boy... That's gonna be a lengthy drawing session.
Let's close out this Journal post with the announcement that a Direct Sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, is in development. Who knows when this will release, but I tell ya, I'm excited.
Other noteworthy Highlights:
Keanu Reeves from The Matrix talking about Cyberpunk 2077
Tim Schafer of Double Fine showing off Psychonauts 2
Ikumi Nakamura of Okami & Bayonetta fame showing off GhostWire: Tokyo
Next Microsoft Console; Project Scarlett with Halo Infinite
Spyro: The Reignited Trilogy anounced for Switch to come September 3rd
This E3 certainly had its ups and downs, but there were a lot of really cool games on show with release dates that show plenty of promise. I look forward to playing some of these title, and enjoying others from afar. All in all, I'd say it was a solid E3 this year. Here's looking forward to these games on show.
As my username suggests, I am a huge fan of anime and video games. I love to draw, and I also REALLY love to act and perform. I eventually want to write and publicize my own animated and/or graphic novel series, and also get into voice acting. I'm getting as involved as I can in both fields, so I don't doubt my chances.
I'm also planning some abridged series, flash animated series and video reviews of certain games and movies to write and make in the not-too-distant future, so I might end up becoming a much bigger internet identity.
