Here's the promised speedpainting tutorial!
I'm sorry it's so big, but I honestly suck at Flash and this is the best I could do. I hope that you'll find it helpful!

you'll find all of the brushes I use here: [link]

You are the person that made me better and better. I bought my first digital tablet as of March 6th 2012. I really struggled in the beginning. So this guide has been precious to me. I studied this tutorial for hours on count several days in a row(Back then i had a different account here on DA). I also downloaded it and studied it offline, trying to become better at art. When i felt that i understood the basics of this i studied other artworks that i loved and tried to do my own thing in the end. Thank you very much for this wonderful tutorial. Here is a before and after image of my progress: Draw This Again Meme (2012-2017) by Individen

Thanks for sharing this – it inspired me to try out a speedpainting. Yet I was always half-satisfied with Photoshop – but I think I will try it out again ^^.

Someone please help me, i'm really bad at photoshop and i'm starting to learn, i downloaded and loaded the brush pack that he uses, but i can't find those brushes that he uses, or any that fit the drawing for that matter...i spent 3 days for this and i can't stop stressing about this, because i want to draw and i just simply can't draw with the brushes i have...I really tried everything, i just need help in finding them...If any of you is willing to help please reply. Thanks!

Are the brushes under a common name? Usually after downloading you set it up under the brushes folder in the photoshop folder, and it should be there to load after you open the program. It won't be there automatically though, you have to go under brushes, then load brushes, and find the file again.

Hope this helps!

Many thanks for this tutorial.

This whole "speed painting" thing never made much sense to me, because every time I see somebody say they "speed painted' something it looks like a masterpiece. People seem to be able to do more in half an hour of painting than I can do in five hours.

What type of photoshhop do you use?
sticky-fox Featured By Owner Apr 20, 2016
If I may add one suggestion to this, putting color balance or any adjustment tool into a "New Adjustment Layer" will allow you to affect all the layers beneath it, not just the active one.

You did an awesome job with this!

I thought that maybe you could've added more detail to the stones on the ground if
you were going to go
full on with the realistic-ness of this painting but that's about the only thing
I've seen to critique this awesome painting on :D

great breakdown of speedpainting; made it clearer how to approach details (gradually). also seems like with this technique (the right brush for the job) I can try to follow Bob Ross digitally :}

Thank you for this! l'm a total beginner and l feel lost every time to try to start painting something. l have a feeling l'm trying to do too advanced things instead of taking it slow and easy and not investing 20 hours in a painting that won't look great anyway. This was a good tutorial and it gave me some perspective over how l should approach painting for now. Again, thanks :)
