Big changes

Hello my fellow Deviants!

As you might have noticed, I've made some major changes to my profile and gallery recently. I've changed the structure of folders in the gallery a bit and I've restored my best shots to the Featured section. I've uniformed descriptions of all deviations, also adding links to my website and Twitter. Now you should have more consistent experience when watching either older or newer deviations. I've also modified my profile and added links to my accounts on various social media.

All changes are related to restoring my deviantART profile to its former status as a main hub where I was publishing photos and presenting links to other places where various aspects of my photographic projects were elaborated. I haven't been very active on deviantART in last three years, mostly because due to intensive research carrier at the university I was unable to process and publish my photographs on a current basis. That resulted in piling up my work on raw photos that needed to be developed, post-processed and published. Few weeks ago I resumed my work on old photographs and step by step I'm slowly regaining control over my photographic database. However, I still need to process over 11 000 photographs from the last two years!

I don't expect to deal with it quickly. The whole process will take months, I suppose. But I've already started, and that is a big step for me, considering that until now I have hardly touched any photograph taken after Spring 2014. I will be developing my digital negatives one by one, and the best ones will surely find their way to deviantART or one of other websites I publish my photos on. In the meantime please be patient and enjoy my gallery in its current form.

Thank you for reading!

DeviantArtist Questionnaire

Journal Entry: Fri Aug 7, 2015, 5:25 PM
My website . Twitter . Instagram . Watch me . Buy a print

15th birthday of deviantART is a great reason for celebration, sadly spoiled a bit by recent controversies about changing name and pricing of the Premium Membership. Nevertheless it is a good opportunity to share (and discover) some facts and stories about deviants with a #deviantartistquestionnaire .

1. How long have you been on DeviantArt?
It’s been 4 years now as a registered user. I joined in Summer 2011, although I’d been regularly visiting deviantART earlier. My first contact with deviantART was in 2002, when I saw some thematic Linux wallpapers created by deviantART users in some computer magazine. I wanted to look for more, but I had a dial-up internet connection and it was way too slow to display deviantART website in a reasonable amount of time.

2. What does your username mean?
It’s my alternative pseudonym. I’ve been originally known as Lupus but when I was creating a YouTube account back in 2007 I wanted to have a unique username without any numbers and suffixes (and obviously “Lupus” had been already taken), so I’ve come out with “Vertiser”. I’ve stayed with that name ever since and gradually used it on various websites. Now I only use it on my deviantART profile and YouTube channel, and in most other places on the web I use my real name.

3. Describe yourself in three words.
Creative, introverted, engaged.

4. Are you left or right handed?
I write with my right hand but draw (and perform most of other tasks) with my left one.

5. What was your first deviation?
Well, it was a photo of a lily in my garden, but I deleted it, so don’t know if this count :) My oldest still available in the gallery is a black&white photo of spider’s web on a thuja hedge.

6. What is your favourite type of art to create?
I love taking photos so photography is my major discipline at the moment and the only one published on my deviantART profile. But I also like writing so it’s possible that things will change over time.

7. If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I would definitely want to be composer and create my own music. Maybe not the type of art for showing on deviantART, but it’s the type of art I always wanted to learn and never did.

8. What was your first favourite?
That’s embarrassing, but I don’t remember. Let me check it and get back to you in a minute… :)
… OK, so apparently my first favourite was a portrait made by Khomenko:
Let Love In.. by Khomenko

9. What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Photography, definitely. It is my favourite discipline and the one I browse on deviantART most often. But I also fave literature a lot (by the way, please check amazing poems by VioletRogue!) and I like both traditional and digital art as well.

10. Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I met a lot of wonderful artists and great people on deviantART and I don’t want to ignore or underestimate any of them. Nevertheless there is one person whose art I love particularly, and it’s ChloeClik . She is a very talented photographer, skilled traditional artists, a writer and an unique person full of energy and ideas who creates stunning art of any type. Please visit her profile if you haven’t already and I’m sure you’ll find something you like. Just look at this mighty lion:

or this wonderful view of the lighthouse in the Mull of Galloway:

There are dozens of other art works in ChloeClik’s gallery and they do deserve your attention! She also runs three dA groups with amazing, friendly and supportive communities, check them out as well: NatureWeb , SprinkleOfSmiles, CatCatalogue.

11. If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I haven’t met any of my deviantART friends in person yet but meeting any of them would be a great pleasure :)

12. How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
There are a few deviants who impacted my life in one way or another. Always when I admire someone’s art it affects me somehow and changes my POV, gives me inspiration, motivation or energy, so I guess many of you have impacted my life without even knowing it :) But again, the biggest credit goes to ChloeClik  whom I met on deviantART and who became my great friend. We shared a lot of wonderful conversations together and I’ve had a privilege to collaborate with her in NatureWeb group. She made deviantART an unique and important place to me.

13. What are your preferred tools to create art?
My Nikon DSLR camera. Previously I used Konica Minolta digital camera, but Nikon represent a whole new level of quality. I use Nikon D90 camera with a bunch of lenses and I don’t plan to change it in the nearest future (although I always wanted to try Canon cameras out to check if they are better than Nikon ones).

14. What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
I don’t have a favourite or the most inspirational place to create photos, for every time I try to find the optimal place for taking the shot.

15. What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
When my photo of Old World Swallowtail won a competition in NatureWeb contest. I was really surprised and didn’t expect to win at all. Wining the contest gave me a lot of positive feedback and made me feel more confident about my photos.

Cleaning up the gallery

Journal Entry: Mon Jun 29, 2015, 6:21 AM
My website . Twitter . Instagram . Watch me . Buy a print

I've been publishing my photos on deviantART for 4 years now. When I began in Spring 2011 I wasn't nearly as skilled as I thought I was, and now, after 4-year adventure with deviantART and 11-year adventure with digital photography, I know I'm not as skilled as I ignorantly believed I was.

While looking at my gallery I've immediately noticed some photos that didn't fit. It wasn't because of the subject, or time, or place they were taken, but it was because now, from a longer distance and different point of view, I can tell they were mediocre at best. I've been developing my style and a way of using post processing techniques, and unfortunately there was a certain time in my life when I had thought 'the more effects the better'. I've learned a lot since then, but by no means I've learnt enough. Still, I've decided to permanently delete some deviations I'm not comfortable with. I've cleaned up my gallery and deleted about a dozen of photos. I've left another dozen of photos I should have deleted, just to remind myself that I should be constantly trying to improve my skill.

I want my deviantART gallery to be a place where I present my best, or at least good, photos. It is possible I will be repeating cleaning in the future, but for now, I'm happy with the result and I found my gallery more appealing than it was with those deleted works. I hope you'll like it better, too.

Returning to my dA Family

Journal Entry: Tue Feb 18, 2014, 4:13 PM
My website . Twitter . Instagram . Watch me . Buy a print

It has been a long, long time since I last time uploaded a photo to my deviantART gallery. For the year and a half I've been more like an observer than contributor, and despite the fact I really wanted to return here, I was not able to do so, due to my work and other duties that were continuously stealing tons of my time. Few times I promised myself that next week/month/season I will go back to my photo work and keep publishing new materials on a regular basis. Days had passed and nothing has changed.

I had to make a decision. To return to deviantART. Right now. It is a place where I can meet wonderful people from all over the world. Photographers, drawers, designers, writers. You are all my family here, and we should never abandon our family. So I came back, with new photos, new ideas and a strong will - that no matter how busy I am - I will always find time for you and your art. That is what dA is for.

Despite the fact I haven't been active on dA, during last months I've been taking dozens of various photos. Some of them will be published on my profile in the near future, some will be held for a specific opportunity. Your feedback and critique is always most welcome. Please let me know if you like those new materials or if there is anything specific you would like to see here. I'll do my best to add interesting deviations as often as it is possible.

See you soon!

Summer trip

At the end of June I was participating in some geographic research in Tatra mountains, Poland. It gave me a great opportunity to take some nature photos in one of the most beautiful parts of my country. After almost two week of post-processing, photo works are ready for submission. So, within the next few weeks I'm going to publish, one by one, the best photos with a short commentary. I do hope you'll enjoy it as I enjoyed working in the countryside.

All feedback is always welcome. You can also visit my homepage: for more news.

Spring has come! (^^,)

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 30, 2012, 8:15 AM

Finally, after three long months of Winter, Spring finally came. It welcomed me with sing of birds, warming sunlight, afternoon storms and beautiful rainbows. It's time for changes, so I've changed skin of my journal to something fresh and not so gloomy like previous one. Great thanks to BloodPromiser, who prepared this skin for all dA users.

As you probably noticed, I added three new pictures this week. Took them last weekend and they actually open my Spring photographic season. There are few flowers blossoming so far, so can't find interesting Spring themes for photo works. But I'll do my best to find some new soon.

Hope you all enjoy Spring time ;)

Autumn time

Journal Entry: Sun Nov 27, 2011, 4:37 AM

Hello everyone!

I haven't written new posts In my journal for quite a long time. As autumn gives us great opportunity to take wonderful and colourful photographs , I've decided to publish on my deviantART profile a set of autumn photographs. Few of them have been already uploaded to my and are available through my gallery, though majority still waits for its turn. I hope you will enjoy new photographs, taken in last few weeks.

As you've probably noticed, I've created my own website about photography and geography. You can find it here: (the link leads to English version, but other parts are in Polish, too). Other link I want to share with you is a link to my Gallery, available at By one click you can translate texts in my Gallery to one of more than twenty languages, so people from every part of the world can follow that link. Last link is link to my facebook photography page. You can find it here:…. I appreciate all support and critique, and I invite you to leave some feedback at one of that sites. Especially, if you enjoy watching my photographs, I'd like to ask you to click "like it" button on my facebook page. It takes only few seconds, but means a lot to me.

As you know, subject of most of my pictures is related with nature. I do think that all people living on the Earth are responsible for preventing environment from being damaged. We do not need to be an active Greenpeace or other organization member. In fact, there is simpler and easier way to show, that we do care about our planet. I am a member of Nature Web group. It is a group of people that have similar goals: to show beauty of our planet and spread news about its condition. If you love nature, if you like animals and if you want your grandchildren have the same or even better Earth to live on, with less pollution, with cleaner waters and fresher air, please consider joining our group. Mist and mysteries...

Journal Entry: Fri Jul 8, 2011, 2:30 AM

Yesterday I had wonderful opportunity to take photographs of a mist in the countryside. It is not a common phenomenon so I have spent four hours preparing outdoor photographic session. It was not cold, although humidity was extreme high, which caused memory card failure.

Within the next few days I shall publish some results of my work. First one was submitted at night and shows small part of misty landscape in eastern Poland. Hope you will like it.

Journal Entry: Sun Jun 26, 2011, 9:48 AM

It is my first post  in DA's Journal, so hello world! ;)

I've been keen on photography for many years, although my pictures are separated in different places on the Internet. I wanted to change it, and good reason was renovation of my photographs database. So I took a piece of paper, pencil and started writing down all the possible location of my files, downloading and re-mastering graphics. Now I can show you the very best of my collection.

All feedback and constructive critiques are welcome, as well as comments or messages about my photographs, photography or science. If you have any questions, please contact me and share your opinion. Regards!
