Are character names important?
Names are everything, using a name like Gertrude for a main character would just ruin the entire thing
It's not the be all and end all, but it does affect how I feel about a character
If I have seen the name somewhere before I will always think of that character instead.
It's not too important. Looks, character personality, story etc have more impact.
A Rose by any other name...
I don't really care about names, all my characters are named Bob
