Mistress of the Forrest

I think I've started working on this drawing in the last week of 2010 and finished it a few days ago. So I could say that it's still a drawing from last year.

What I wanted to draw was an elvish looking woman with a unicorn and after a few failed sketches I came up with this drawing. This one was also a blending experiment. I smoothed out the colors with pieces of cotton wool to make everything look blended and smooth and a little less sketchy. I'm quite happy with the reslult and I think I'm going to use this technique more often in the future. C:

Drawn with regular color pencils by Farber Castell, poly chromos color pencils also by Farber Castell, a bit of white gel pen for the highlights in her eyes and cotton wool for blending.
