Here is my progress on my Jadis White Witch battle costume from the Chronicles of Narnia. Sorry for the lack of a fancy back-drop! I haven't posted a progress picture in 2 years on this, I'll admit it's been relegated to a side-project for awhile, but I'm determined to finish it next year. I'm about 80-85% done with the skirt, I have 2 more of these triangular inserts to go, and I'm hoping to have it finished by spring. It is currently up to 6lbs even.

Here's the last update I made on this:

***PLEASE NOTE: My work is not 'cosplay', it is costuming. Costuming is the art of creating costumes and designing a character look. 'Cosplay' is the activity of role playing while in costume, which not an activity I participate in, and is often confused for costuming.. Please only refer to my work as Costuming. Thank you for your understanding.***

This is some seriously impressive costuming work and I can definitely see why it would take so long to complete. This looks amazing! Looking forward to more updates.
Also glad you made the distinction between costuming and cosplay, as I can relate since people often confuse character performers and impersonators for cosplayers :P

I'm thoroughly impressed, where did you learn to work with chainmail?  Like how does a person start that? :)

Thanks :) I'm actually self-taught! There's tons of free tutorials out there. The basic chain weave is called European 4-1. This site has some beginner's instructions: www.artofchainmail.com/pattern…

Also, theringlord.com is my source for chainmail supplies, they also have instructions and a forum, and buying from there is *much* cheaper than trying to get supplies at a craft store. Also, youtube has some good videos. Once you get used to the basic weave and increasing/decreasing, it's pretty simple!
