I had joined the Rebel Legion (A worldwide costuming organization dedicated to the good guys of Star Wars) within the 1st year of it's formation 14 years ago (at the time of this writing), and was very surprised when I was able to get the forum handle "Leia", which I assumed had been taken. However, I swore I'd never do a Leia costume since I didn't look anything like her. A few years ago, I decided to make one anyway because our base really needed one. I finally have some epic pictures now to share of my Leia costume, and the excellent work the photographer did makes me believe I can actually pull this off. I'm even the right height, 5'00".
The costume I had made from a white polyester similar to what her ESB dress was made from. The best is painted leather with hand cut aluminum pieces. Though you can't see the boots, I had made the boot shafts myself and mounted them to a pair of vintage leather boots.

***PLEASE NOTE: My work is not 'cosplay', it is costuming. Costuming is the art of creating costumes and designing a character look. 'Cosplay' is the activity of role playing while in costume, which not an activity I participate in, and is often confused for costuming.. Please only refer to my work as Costuming. Thank you for your understanding.***
