And now for something a little different! Posting a few scifi city illustrations I did for Subsidia Records this year. This one was for Night Vol 2.

I learned some Blender in order to create the city, but still relied heavily on digital painting in Photoshop to get the colors, atmosphere, and details right.

Some really lovely hovercraft designs there. Remind of the Incal reprint.

I had to look that up, but you're right! And thank you :)

Yeah, the ones with the big overslung canopies and stretched bonnets. Good to see somebody continue the style when we don't have Giraud around.

Cool! Like Blade Runner meets Judge Dredd. I always thought Judge Dredd would fit-in with the city of the original Blade Runner. I believe Blade Runner was set in an alternate-dystopian Los Angeles. I could more see if someplace such as Tokyo or maybe Dubai became like this within about another 30 years or so. So fantastic! You could do the old-style Matte Paintings like they used for the original Star Wars Trilogy. Matte Painting is becoming a lost art with all the CGI and Motion-capture tech.

Thank you! Blade Runner is probably my favorite movie, so I jumped at the chance to work on this futuristic city project.

If you liked Blade Runner, there is a movie from 2009 called, "THE MACHINE" with actress Caity Lotz. It plays like a direct prequel to (the original, 1982) Blade Runner. Once you see it and understand where the story is going, you are like, oh, I get it. Very atmospheric filming just like Blade Runner.

I think I know of the movie but haven't gotten around to seeing it. Thanks for the tip!

Amazing art! The intricate Clear details and minutiae are awesome enough but its this city's concept and layout which is creative, a futurist Atlantis in points of five with the LED blue line patterns reminiscent of sunlight patterns on a wavy body of water's surface. Just brilliant!

Gracious thanks! I love this interpretation.
