Since 2014 my activity in dA started waning. Main cause for this were my Master studies.
One of the victims to my switch of focus was inevitably my free time in which I would be creating small inconsequential work and upload it here. That included sketches, drawings, photographs and even writing, which I still haven’t manage to get back to.
But that doesn’t mean that I have given up on art. On the contrary, I have been focusing on my art more and more, aiming at becoming one of those lucky bastards who actually make a living out of what they do. I have been assisting fashion designer Ingeborg Steenhorst, collaborating with artists from various fields, and working on starting my very own webshop for clothes.
After experimenting with dA and cargocollective, my portfolio is now hosted and regularly uploaded in instagram. www.instagram.com/velvet_vorte…
This week I am taking time to reorganise my dA account and a lot of things will be removed. What are my criteria for doing that?
Well, like I said above inconsequential work will go. So will work witch is not well made or well documented. I wish there was a way to just place all of this work in a back office, or just to render them private until I decide what to do with them, but those options don’t exist so they will be removed from the site all together.
Among the things that will be deleted, I am sad to say, is also the group The-Shackled-City. That group started in order to document in a narrative text form the D&D adventures that my friends and I experienced while playing the campaign of the same name. In the process it started hosting works of other creators who had played the same story and it became it’s own small thing. It’s been so many years since then that I can no longer dedicate my time to finishing what I started, and instead of letting it live in limbo of unfinished projects, I prefer to send it on it’s way to the afterlife.
However I am not giving up on dA. I am merely trying to rejuvenate it and update it to my latest work. I am still unsure of how to reconcile the old with the new so if you have any suggestion leave a comment. It will be greatly appreciated.
Having said that I think that I have covered everything.
