first: hee! love the firefoxes all curling around their globes. what a great image import.
second: AUGH! you found fractals in those Brew formulas! I rummaging through that folder two nights ago and utterly failing to get any of the Brews to make something pretty for me. this is my envious and impressed face. *grin*

This is the first time I've tried Spicy Brew 02. Hmm. I don't have too much trouble with the Brews, usually. I wonder why you do.

Try Sweet Brew 03 - I've used this one on over 30 of my fractals now, it gives a nice clean, regular spiral (if you're ok with that sort of design, there are more complex arrangements in there, though). I usually start off with a greyscale gradient and a simple Point trap on the Outside tab. Then I'll use the Switch mode (F7) to find an initial Julia arrangement to work with. I then tweak the formula params a little to get a nice clear structure. Then I'll go off on a search for some interesting trap shapes, colours and textures to tart it all up with!
Here are some of my results with that formula:

Hope this helps, anyway. Have another go and have fun! Let me know if you come up with something! If you're still stuck note me and I'll dig out a couple of starter layers for you.

I understand the frustration. If I can't see anything at all I try a few things before giving up: load an Outside Colouring of some sort, reset the Location so I'm fully zoomed out, and fiddle with a few formula parameters. If those measures don't work then it's probably not worth the bother.
Good luck, and you're welcome!
