Hello Velica

I am contacting you on behalf of Dr. Brett Ferdinand. We make videos for science students interested in studying medicine or dentistry and we were wondering what your policy would be regarding including your art in these science presentations (of course with appropriate credit given).

Will you upload the same artworks there or is it going to be exclusive?
Velica's avatar
I will probably still put new stuff here and in facebook as well but to be honest I am much more fond of facebook than deviantart for publishing drawings these days. Deviantart, even though it is designed for art, it has been hijacked by untalented teenagers. On facebook you can tailor your audience a bit better.

What do you think?
tuffix's avatar
True..
I started uploading my work on facebook, because deviantart isn't really known in Germany. But I owe deviantart so much, so I somehow felt like being unfaithful ^^
Indeed you reach much more viewers in facebook. However I'm still sceptical about it. I guess I'll being using both for a while.

Apart from your work and our interaction I have had very little reasons to even visit deviantart. Yes, I do upload stuff but i don't browse anymore.
tuffix's avatar
I'm flattered!
You could subscribe to my fb-page if it's easier (I'm Soufeina who liked your page recently)

I still like browsing through the Daily Deviations for inspiration.

I am now a facebook follower of yours :)

Great, you just have to deal with the German comments now (:

There's a little magic "translate" button on Facebook! :) (normally gives you insane translations, but its ok)

On Facebook the artworks are restricted to that small-sized view. It's hard to put multiple-paneled comics there. I actually think deviantART is a very friendly and clean environment. Other networking websites such as YouTube and Facebook are full of jerks and their offensive comments that don't get blocked.
Well the above points ... at least to me.
Velica's avatar
All true, the format is better here. Still, as I said, too many "loollllll" teenagers around.
Eusoniptera's avatar
Facebook is for everyone. Those teenagers are also found there.

Not on my friends list :)

You're right about the size. That's really annoying. And somehow I like the people on deviantart, as well, even though they're untalented teenagers.
Eusoniptera's avatar
That's why I don't regard Facebook as a place designed for artworks. Hey but annoying untalented teenagers are too on Facebook, where the population is almost everyone who has internet access. At least the deviantART population is more restricted to untalented teenagers who post drawings and like art. But posting on Facebook might allow more exposure to the public.

This is awesome! :D I'll follow your page.

Thank you very much!
