Art.
Millions of years ago mammals evolved from a very chaotic and dangerous world. They adapted to the environment by evolving through generations of genetic mutations until a species arose which could endure the extremely violent and complex conditions they struggled to survive in.
Art. Is not a necessity to life. But it might very well be the meaning of life.
When you strip a flower of its wild purpose, and plant it to a pot, you have reduced it to a thing that requires water and sunshine in order to look pretty for your pleasure. Then the owner will surely someday become busy or tired and neglect the life to its death, as the pleasure dulls.
Such is what happens to the art of humanity when you treat it as a tool for your amusement.
