Farewell Iwata by VegaColors Farewell Iwata by VegaColors
Rest in peace, Satoru Iwata. You brought smiles, laughter, creativity, and insight to countless people, from gamers and developers to friends and family.

Yesterday took many of us by surprise. I was in disbelief. And while many of us were aware of his health issues, it was shocking nonetheless. If I ever had the chance to have met him in person, I have no idea how many times I would have said thank you. We will always remember you.

He added thousands of smiles to children's face everywhere. He overachieved in the gaming industry, and really, there's nothing that could me more important to him than for his friends and family to continue making video games. Let's all smile one last time for him.

For me, he didn't really die, he just finished the game of his life with a High Score!

It's so sad to see died like Satoru Iwata. I hate to see what will Mario and all of the Nintendo characters do without him.
At least Mario and everyone knows that they can take what they got and fly with it. Maybe this Satoru Iwata maybe gone, but he's still inside of us, inside Mario, inside Link, even inside Bowser.

It makes me happy to see some genuinely heartfelt tributes to Mr. Iwata, especially ones that encompass his humble fun-loving spirit so well and that reflect more upon his legacy and what he has given us rather than the void his absence leaves in all our hearts. He truly would want us to all be happy, to have fun, and to cherish the many wonderful life experiences his lessons have all taught to us. Truly down-to-earth, and now he is surely in Heaven smiling upon us.

Thank you for sharing this heartwarming piece with us, Vega. You really have created a beautiful tribute here.

You did a really great job on this. The expressions are very fitting and well done. His passing really hit home to me, even though I never met him or knew of him until recently, I could never imagine my childhood being the same without the man's work. Not just a passing of a man, but of an era. He will be forever missed.
