Spec-Evo: The Stalker

I watched C.M. Kosemen's presentation on Cephalopods, which you should too, and wanted to sketch something along those lines. My idea is that it's a kind of terrestrial cuttlefish that evolved into an efficient predator. These creatures are not particularly fast, so instead they rely on ambushing their prey. The astute among you can guess that it banks on its ancestors ability to change color and texture to blend into its forest home. Once its prey has come close enough, it lunges at it with two large tentacles lined with sharp spurs that curve backward, like snake teeth. It pulls its prey towards the mouth, which when it bites injects a powerful neurotoxin, paralyzing its victim within seconds.
