Between the Dsi version and the new 3DS, which in your opinion is the :
-More versatile
-Easier to use
-would recommend for a beginner?

Thanks. Sometimes I can't believe I drew those on my DSi myself. I didn't know I could draw till I tried Art Academy. :)

came across a link to your gallery in a review on art academy on another site. and your art is awesome! hope you are using your skills to put on paper cause you have great talent that i bet would do well off screen as well. :D
looking to get a dsi and art academy soon (yey!).... looking for some answers so i can choose the best options. do you use the regular dsi or the dsi xl? i hear that the xl can look a little distorted because of the larger pixels, do you have any trouble with that? also would you advise to get the darker(black or bronze) colors of the dsi(xl) would the blue or pink colors take away from the screen or be a distraction?
once again great talent and keep up the good work :D

Wow! Thank you!! What a nice message! Where did you find my link to this site?

I've not really don't much drawing at all other than on Art Academy. I really didn't think I had any artistic talent at all until I started learning on AA. And I still am a bit intimidated trying to draw on real paper. I think it's because with AA it's easy to cover over mistakes ... you can erase as much as you like without tearing holes in the paper, or paint layer upon layer until the colour looks right. I'm too scared to try that with with paints. But at least with AA it gives me a place to experiment and try new things. It's such a great program and I highly recommend it.

I started off with a DSi, and most of my drawings were done on that. In January I bought a DSi XL simply because I wanted the larger screen size for drawing. I don't really notice that it's too pixilated or distorted. I actually find it a lot easier because my eyes aren't too good. So I would say go for an XL. The only problem with is it's much too large for playing on the go. I love being able to draw from my own photos, but the XL is really too big to carry around.

The other option is a 3DS. I have one of those as well and have AA on it. At first I wasn't too impressed, but it's OK. I didn't think you could draw from your own photos on it, but I found out that you can. I'm just used to the larger screen size now, but it's still good having more places for my doodles.

And I don't think the colour of the console makes any difference. My DSi has a pink skin on it, my XL is Mario red, and my 3DS is bright blue. So pick the console you like best and let me know when you get one! :)

hi again!
i cant remember what site it was. it was a review and you had a link in the review. ive decided to go with the dsi xl in metallic rose (it was released on the 18th). cant wait for it to come in the mail cause im so excited! i checked out some of the systems at gamestop to get a better feel for colors and size and screens. and i agree that for doing art its best to have a large screen. not too worried about how big it is cause i carry around this big bucket bag everywhere i go. and it will be better then having pastels getting loose in my bag making everything a rainbow lol! ill let you know how i like it and how i like art academy when i get it! thanks for your help! :D

Yippie! I can't wait to see your work.
And that metallic rose XL looks like a great colour! I probably would have gone for that myself if I didn't already have one. (Why couldn't they have come out with decent colours when it was first released!?)

Enjoy your new toy :)

Thank you! I can honestly say that I didn't think I could draw anything before learning how to draw with the Art Academy program. I highly recommend it.
