Or fake intelligence. Or none at all.
I keep having images taken offline because DA says I need to submit releases. It's always the same model, and it's always images from one of three particular shoots.
Let's get this straight: I have submitted the fucking releases!
In fact, I have submitted them multiple times, but apparently DA keeps getting new content checkers who are too stupid or too FUCKING BLIND to realize that they've seen the releases (REPEATEDLY) and that the releases (THREE OF THEM) refer to every single FUCKING image they've asked about, along with a few dozen others THEY HAVEN'T FUCKING NOTICED!
Oh yeah, that's because t
"We ask for no statistics of the killed,
For nothing political impinges on
This single casualty, or all those gone,
Missing or healing, sinking or depressed,
Hundreds of thousands counted, millions lost.
More than an accident and less than willed
Is every fall, and this one like the rest.
However others calculate the cost,
To us the final aggregate is one,
One with a name, one transferred to the blest,
And though another stoops and takes up the gun,
We cannot add the second to the first."

Click the icon to read what I have to say. Apparently some wannabe pornmaster has been stealing work from DA members and posting it on his personal site, as well as on DA. His DA account is temporarily suspended, but he'll probably slither his way back in.
Wytrab8 ~HillaryWhiteRabbit (https://www.deviantart.com/hillarywhiterabbit) is an amazing painter, and she's used one of my images as the basis for a canvas. Go see it on her page at this http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/50823041/
And check out the original, too.
I noticed this morning that my last update to the journal was on December 29th, so I'm going to ramble a bit for now and promise to do better later.
Because of some serious changes in my life, I've decided it's time to start shooting again. Partly this is because I can afford to now, and partly it's because of some marked improvement in my health since the first of the year. That one's a long story (two stories, actually), and it's not worth going into here, but suffice it to say that I'll be around for a while longer. (So long as I don't get blown away by a tornado tonight--bad weather sucks.)
So anyway, I'm going to be actively looking
Well, as of November the 10th, KC has been living inside the house with me, Pearl, Simon, and Bubba. Ashleigh has her own room and doesn't associate with anyone but me. She's going on 16, so she's kind of set in her ways.
So KC went in to the vet's last week for a final round of checkups and shots, and while there I was supposed to make an appointment for him to get neutered. The vet said that would be a worthy idea, so he started giving good old KC a thorough checkup.
What the good doctor found was that KC (Casey) is actually KC (Kacie). The vet techs have been doing things like giving shots and checking temperatures, and somehow every
My work is NOT stock. I don't want anyone using it to practice with the newest Photoshop filter and then calling the work "original."
There are times, however, when some talented person will ask politely about using a photo as a reference, and my ego tells me to say yes. The most recent is based on "Hill and Valley":
The painter is a young art student in the UK, a nice lady named Chloe
and her painting is titled "Bottom Bare."
Go look at the rest of her gallery. It's worth the trip.
Last evening I was trying to talk myself out of installing KC inside the house. I tried to convince myself that I have enough indoor cats (I do) and that KC would be perfectly happy living outdoors for the rest of his days (he would).
Then I thought about losing Brownie last year and worrying about Woody all the time, and I knew that KC would have to be indoors for me to sleep comfortably, without worry. So just before dark I put him in the big carrier and took him out to the screen room out back.
Don't ask. There's still a lot of hissing and spitting, but Simon, Pearl, and Bubba can't bully my tough little Siamese. (Bubba couldn't bull
I left the vet's office about 45 minutes ago with KC riding on the seat next to me in a pet carrier. The worms are dead, any new ones will die a-borning, and the intestinal bug he had is cleared up. I've been giving him pills for it, and they seem to have worked.
KC travels better than any other cat I've had. There's little complaining, only the occasional meow, and then he settles in for a nap; today he also wanted to rub on my fingers through the wire door, but I can do that, right? As if driving in a pouring rainstorm weren't enough, huh?
Anyway, the doctors gave him a clean bill of health. All the deadly cat diseases have passed hi
The doctor down at the clinic says I'm the first case of flu he's seen this year.
I'm so f**king proud of myself!
Tamiflu, Dramamine, antibiotics to prevent pneumonia--these are the fun things of my life today.
On the high side I'm going to sleep in for a couple of days.
On the downside the last time I had this I nearly died. And I don't get reimbursed for the time off work, much less for the $147 I just spent.
I kept looking at my old Crown Graphic, which I had set up for a shoot that didn't come off. It was still on top of the big Bogen tripod, but it looked lonely.
Worse yet, it looked like a weapon looking for a target, or a preacher looking for parishoners. There's something sad about an unused piece of classic camera equipment.
So I dumped all the equipment out of the lightweight 4x5 case in order to repack it. I had bought the Crown years ago off Ebay, but the seller told some stretchers about it. For one thing, it's definitely beautiful, but it had the wrong rangefinder cam. The Rodenstock 135mm lens in Copal shutter was beautiful as
I have had very little luck finding volunteers to get in front of my camera lately, so I've decided to go back to the tried and true method: hire the model, which really makes a lot of sense on several levels. Modeling is hard work, and since I get the benefit of using the photos, there's no reason not to reimburse her for her time. The fee is negotiable, but I have a figure in mind that I think is fair. It's a heck of a lot more than I get paid at my job. :)
Of course, if someone wants to work for free, so she can show photos to promote herself, or to boost her ego, or whatever, that's fine, too. But I don't have a problem with paying
