Please allow me to introduce myself.
Greetings everyone! It's been a while since I've found myself on DA. Life has taken me to a place where I never thought I'd be. I mean that in a lot of ways but particularly in location, as I recently moved to a new state, city and region of the United States. Anyhow, when I logged on here today I was surprised to see so many comments, followers and favs from everyone. I appreciate the Daily Deviation I was awarded too, so if you followed me because of that...thank you!
I must admit that I was certainly disappointed by the people who felt it necessary to leave rude or vulgar comments on the images I've taken. Believe it or not, these images are not for sexual gratification. They are for creative and artistic use and I personally shot them to use as life drawing reference but realize that their use isn't limited to that and I've made them available to the DA community as a way of giving back.
I've been a traditional artist since I was 9 years old, doodling at every chance I had - even during recess. I continued to draw and when the time came for college I pursued a degree in art. I've devoted the last 20+ years to artistic endeavors and when I was in college I was on deviantart everyday. It helped me a lot and I made a lot of friends. Though I haven't contributed much in the last few years I recognize this site as an important place for me. This alone is the reason I share my images, which cost me time, money and effort to produce. Since I moved I no longer have my photo studio but I'm planning on changing that as soon as I can. I will continue to post images as soon as I can but I don't know when that will be.
I guess what drove me to write this entry today is the frustration I felt while reading the negative comments. They're not great to read. Especially when I know and care for some of the models that I've worked with. It really is sad that a couple bad apples can ruin things for others. Perhaps I've given those people too much power though. So I'm reaching out to the people that do support me. I want you guys to post and say hi. I want to learn your names and the kind of work you do. I want to help you with your projects in any way I can and form new friendships. I want to know that when I produce more stock photos that I'm producing them for Bob or Margaret or Troy. This isn't all about me. Tell me what you need. I want this to be a collaborative process.
Thanks for listening.
