Not born for this World ...

Sacris from my fantasy story Terra Aluvis.
Neither references, textures nor effects used.
This drawing was 100% painted by my own self-drawn brushes.

Sorry for this great amount of negative drawings lately. Something brighter is in the making ...
I hope my experiments with new styles don't go on your nerves. But I think this painting technique suits the content best. Strange techniques for strange moods.

I really like the mixture of the textures, it reminds me of rust and oxidation, something which detain you from movement.

An interesting thought, to be honest. it's interesting to see what different things people see in this drawing. it makes me look and interpret it in completely new ways. thanks! (immer diese deutschen, die auf englisch kommentieren =P)

Yep, as many thoughts as people. (Njaaa damit es international lesbar is ;P)

I don't really see this as a negative thing.  This picture struck me that he was awaiting to be born to another - though I can't say what his womb was - he looks far more serene here than in most of your other pictures of him.

I guess he would in deed to prefer to live in a different world with a different role ... =/
Interesting association with the womp - even I haven't thought of it! Now that you say it, it has a bit of it.

There's nothing wrong with dark or negative drawings--they can be just as expressive as the positive drawings (sometimes even more so!)

It's a beautiful piece--simple, with striking color.  The minimalist detail works in the painting's favor in that it piques my curiosity.  Sacris seems moody, and I want to know why.  Once more, because I know a bit about his circumstances, I suspect it concerns Jerome.... ;)

Nicely done, as usual!

That is true. "Art never comes from happiness." – Where have I read that?
I wouldn't completely agree to it, since I tend to be sometimes even more creative, when I'm in a good mood (especially concerning more "normal fancy fantasy" stuff), but I wouldn't say it's basically wrong. Art happens out of different reasons depending on one's inner state. sometimes it's just an expression of positive energy overflow, sometimes it's a last cry of despair.

It has to do with Jerome to one part, but in the first place it has to do with the very paradox of Sacris' existence - and the problems that result from this impossibility.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! :)

Freut mich, dass du es magst!
