Description
I kept the german title on purpose here.
I don't like, that in english language there is no different term between "the exile" and "the exile(d one)".
In german language "das Exil" means "the exile (itself)", while "der Exilant" is "the exiled one".
ENDLESS NIGHT IS ABOUT HEALING
Don't get confused by all the kinky depictions between the Baron and Sacrys in my art gallery.
They ARE a part of the story (even a major one).
Yet what the current story of Endless Night hast turned to be ACTUALLY about, is exploring/revealing the nature and past of the Baron and the ordeal of healing him.
At least that is, what Sacrys is 100% up to. He feels intrigued from the very first second, he meets the Baron.
And his whole being strives for one thing: Who is this Baron?
And what is this incredibly attracting mystery behind him?
That makes Sacrys end up hopelessly in love with the Baron and even more hopelessly devoted to the wish to help him find peace and love with himself and the world that eroded him (like the rocky world surface of Endless Night depicted in the background).
ALSO TERRA ALUVIS IS ABOUT HEALING
In fact, that is a repeating pattern between my two life projects Terra Aluvis and Endless Night.
In Terra Aluvis, JEROME is the one feeling helplessly attracted to Sacris - trying everything in his might to conquer him, so he gets access to him and is able to help/heal him and make him find love and peace with himself (and the world around him).
After 6 book volumes of Terra Aluvis, this process had reached a major success mile stone. Sacris has found peace and love. While the global story is yet totally unfinished there, THIS HEALING is accomplished. (Next one to heal there is Jerome - Sacris made clear, that he would return his favor of healing.)
So when I started writing Endless Night after that, and my characters from Terra Aluvis surprised me by reincarnating in this new world, Sacrys (Sacris' reincarnation) had the wisdom and state of peace and love that he had acquired in his "former life".
So while the gap between Sacrys from beginning of Endless Night and Sacris Terra Aluvis Vol. 1 might be incomprehensibly extreme - the gap to Sacris in Terra Aluvis Vol. 6 is only a small jump away from Sacrys in Endless Night.
WHY EXPLORING THE PAST IS IMPORTANT FOR SACRYS' PRESENT
Sacrys and the Baron is a plot of Sacrys' past in Endless Night. It does not take place in the Metropolis like the rest of the story of Endless Night.
When I started to write about Sacrys in the present plot, I was so curious, how he had BECOME that way, that I needed to explore his past.
From what should have been only one chapter, 3 big Episodes now have been already written - far from any end visible.
The Baron teaches Sacrys everything he needs to know to be able to survive. He is his mentor and master. In so many ways.
And what Sacrys has gone through under the Baron casts such a different light on what he is doing in the present.
Take his company Vanitas, for example: He is creating living products with it.
He takes human beings and redesigns them, fitting a certain product idea, a certain mentality and functionality.
His products excel any rivaling companies (as far as existent at all) in the Metropolis. No one knows the secret of his talent.
No one knows, he has gone through an uncountable amount of body-modification procedures under the Baron himself.
He had been shaped in so many different ways, so many times. Both, his body AND mind.
He knows the side OF THE PRODUCT so well. He knows, what it feels, he knows, what it thinks. And most of all - he knows, how the way there to that point looks and feels like.
Most of his living products are not shaped by negative conditioning like violence or cruelty.
They are being shaped by positive conditioning like lust and ecstasy.
Another fascinating fact is: In the present plot Sacrys allows nobody to dominate him. Absolutely out of question.
In the past he was the most devoted being at the feet of his Master, the Baron.
THE UNSPEAKABLE IN BETWEEN
And the most thrilling and unsettling question to me as their creator and author is:
What happened inbetween? Between the past and the present plot of Endless Night?
Why is the Baron not in the present plot? Why is Sacrys not at his side there anymore? How did he end up in the Metropolis at all?
The only clue I have so far is Sacrys' extreme change in personality.
At the side of the Baron he was loving, caring, ever forgiving, devoted and warm.
In the present plot Sacrys is cold, distanced, completely egocentric, a lone wolf.
Whatever has happened in between: it was clearly traumatic.
HEALING AND BEING HEALED
So yes, the first step seems to be about healing the Baron and the Baron teaching Sacrys everything.
The second one must be healing Sacrys from whatever had happend to HIM in between.
The question is, who will be the one to heal him then?
Jerome WILL be back in the present plot, after all, that is crystal clear.
Yet with his own healing from Terra Aluvis not having happened yet, Jerome is in need of healing himself yet.
Healing and being healed.
Loving and being loved.
Finding peace and giving peace.
- These matters might sound mundane. Yet they turn out to be the most complex and difficults things to achieve.
At least on my way to achieving them ... complete WORLDS unfold.
Microcosmos and Macrocosmos.
The universe is all in us - as we are in the universe.
It is all the same.
I do believe, that we carry all important answers of life in ourselves. Hidden, sealed away in our subconsciousness. Some ancient knowledge and wisdom, carried through time and time in every soul.
We just need to explore our deepest depths to find them - and dare to listen into the silence of our darkest shadows, when all our instincts tell us to run back into the light.
- THERE our very own truth unfolds, that carries our unique key to make us evolve to the next level.

His eyes (OMG, his eyes!) ... his hole posture ... so openly vulnerable, the pain and grief in his soul being visible to such an extent ...
It surprises me. I had come to think if there would ever be anyone to see the Baron like this ... it would be Sacrys. And Sacrys only.
Healing in itself is a stony road. Letting love and peace into life again ... may become a mission impossible.
Especially in such harsh environments. And not everyone wants to gaze into the abyss of the past and /or into oneself. And whom to trust?
Yet, Jerome, Sacris/Sacrys and the Baron have already proven to be determined, even stubborn at times. It can be a hindrance for accepting help and love from others. But it is also necessary to get up again.
I think I already wrote this once before: they find again and again the strength to look back. Without getting lost there. Rather sooner than later they begin to analyse, to work "the shit" through, and to learn from it. Becoming more resilient and open.
However it will take time. The answers to everything lurking in the shadows can't be forced into light quickly.
But I have a feeling that chances are good for them to heal and to be healed.
And I hope their trust in others will be handled with care.
