8 are watercolor and the rest are acrylic which are water based any way, thank you for your response, my heart responds to your comments, I only paint when love enters my life and takes control of my emotions, and thank you again.
I mainly use Fabriano high quality rag/cotton water colour paper and I prepare it by wetting it completely then taping it down with brown paper tape with all 4 edges on a plywood board, the board is about 10cm larger than the paper, I also put a hole in the board in one corner, so I can easily carry it. I allow this to dry, it will feel like a tight drum on the surface and the board is slighly bowed. I prepare about 4 boards in one sitting, then I wait until inspiration or a commision before I start to do any painting. They are very portable and great for outdoor scenes. I then start by appling washes of colour, usually high quality Rowney water colours with a broard chinese brush, sometimes I apply a small dabs of latex paint where I don't want the colour to bleed in. When the painting is finished you cut around between the edge of the tape and the paper, I hope this was clear..good luck and thank you ...regards Arto
