The Introduction to the World of Fates
The continent known as Arqos is shaped with two vast bodies of land. The Norhian Kingdom to the West, and the Hoshidan Dynasties to the East. Both sides are connected by a large dormant volcano known as Vallahius. This large mountain is the home of the Kingdom of Valla. Your Avatar (Still picking a default name) plays as a Prince or Princess for the Vallian throne. Valla is a neutral Kingdom with good terms to both Nohr and Hoshido for they’re rich history. The Vallians were believed to be connected to a deep eldritch magic allowing them to produce spell-bined material. They were the ones who crafted the Siegfried’s blade, the Brynhildr’s cover, the Raijinto’s hilt, and the Funjin’s mysterious string.
The routes of Valla trace back 400 years ago to the time of the Arqosian Empire. This freehold expanded throughout the entire continent way before the arrival of the early Nohrians and Hoshidans. The people of Arqosia had vast cities of riches throughout, with cultural arts and crafts. The most incredible element of the Empire was their deep magic and spell-bined material.
Valla was the center of the Arqosian Empire. It was the only place that was able to craft their spell-bined material throughout the Empire. The Valla family were the best mages and smiths in the freehold. These crafts allowed them to create the finest weapons.
The Empire was destroyed when Vallahius experienced its first and only eruption. It rained fire and destruction over the entire continent. It destroyed all of civilization and left no survivors. The only place that survived was the Castle of Valla and numerous villages which sat at the base of Vallahius protected by deep magic barriers. How was it that one large volcano was able to decimate an entire Empire is still a mystery. Many theorize that they angered their Gods for abusing their deep magic.
When the Hoshidans arrived 100 years later from the East, Valla attempted to drive them out of their homes. However the Hoshidans hand the upper hand with their Pegasi’s against Valla’s horses. As the remnants of the old Arqosian struggle to hold back against the Hoshidans. Then the Nohrians came with their intimidating Wyverns. The last of Valla was protected by their barriers but they knew that they could not stand another skirmish being surrounded by two rival nations. Then the war ended with a treaty between both sides. As a gift, Valla crafted the Siegfried and Brynhildr for the Nohr, and the Raijinto and Fujin for the Hoshidans. The war has ended and Nohr, Hoshido, and Valla lived at peace from then on, or so many thought at first.
The Nohrian Kingdom has been a fair realm but still cursed with numerous wars from invaders. They experience long winters with only certain places that hold the reach of Summer. The lands of Nohr are united as a Kingdom to brave the unforgiving seasons. They have a large region of mountains known as the “Smaug Jaws”. These regions are rich in many minerals which allowed the Nohr to have the largest surplus of metals. Their Ice Tribes are able to grow crops that adapt to the winters and farm many arctic animals for clothes and meat.
These resources have also made them a target for other rival nations to attack. The Nohrians play on the defense against all rival invaders. They’ve established large numbers of Forts and Castles which guards the lands leading to the Capital of Lunice.
The recent invasion that they succeeded in repelling were the Drakius Empire from across the Cervantes Seas 15 years ago. They invaded Nohr for it’s mineral resource to make more black powder for their muskets and cannons. The Nohrians defeated the Drakius by turning their own weapons against them. The Drakius aggressors retreated out of Arqos and the Nohrians adapted muskets into their arsenal.
To this day, the Nohrians have become a power with numbers and weapons to stand against any who dare to defile their home.
The Hoshido’s lands are separated into dynasties which own territories throughout. The Taiyon Dynasty (Taiyo for solar) aims to unite all of Hoshido under the Dawn Emperor. They possess the Raijinto and Fujin and are loyal to the Valla. The Toiyon’s capital of Hikari is close to the Vallahius with neighboring Dynasties that support their aim to unite all of Hoshido.
They have a sufficient mine reservoir with enough material to support their armies. Their economy succeeds through silks and tapestry. The finest of clothing come from their home. Their Summer lands grow the finest of vegetables. Their webs of rivers provide a wide ranged of fish with plenty to feed all of Hoshido.
As of now they have support of a few, but there are others who refuse to bow. This has led to numerous civil wars throughout the region The Taiyon’s leaders are able to overcome many of the rival factions since they possess the Raijinto Katana and Fujin Yumi which has been passed down the royal line.
10 years ago, civil war broke out throughout the lands of Hoshido. The Arashinome uprising was built on the Dynasties which aim to stay independent and banded together to oppose the Taiyon. The Prince and Princess of the Taiyon were able to push back the enemy using the Raijinto and Fujin.
The civil war ended within 5 years and the remnants of Arashinome resumed their independent living, and Taiyon discontinued their expansion. Though with the things to come, Hoshido must be united now more than ever.
