Zero Kiryuu by Valesco Zero Kiryuu by Valesco
Zero Kiryuu and his bloody rose. (Vampire Knight)

PLEASE VIEW FULLY!

i've got to give some credits this time:

blood brushes: :iconshad0w-gfx:
background texture: :iconakinna-stock:
laces: :iconmysticalpchan:

thanks to you!

one thing i'd like to discuss with you:
i intended to make the background texture stand more out, but i wasn't able to do so since the colour was given. it was too dark for my purposes, so i lighted it up via photoshop and the result was, that the contrast diminished widely. do you have any idea how to solve this prob in the future-> light sth up but keep it's contrasted texture? (the menu file setting the contrast low was unfortunately not sufficient)
thanks to you and ENJOY!

Quite nice! :3 I like his pose and the background (especially the lace detail). The curling of his tie is an interesting touch too.

I like the work in the background. The figure's pose and expression are really exciting! Nice work in the wrinkles of his clothing.

If anything, I'd add more of a contrasting range to your shadings, the skin specifically. I'm a little confused what you were trying to do in your description, make the bg lighter? Other than some other small details, it looks good. =) Keep it up!

you have a good point there, the contrast of the skin was originally very high and i reduced it, since the colour was too orange-toned...i try to explain again what i meant with the background: i used a prepared stock from akinna-stock, and the image i used has a, well...let me say beige to orange colour. it's looking like tapestry, e.g.has many crinkles and so on in it, so to speak it is very contrastful. now i thought it's colours too intensive and dark for my purposes, and lighted the whole background up by using the color scheme-changer in cs3.i believe i added more blue and magenta to it.(not so sure about that) but now, not only the colour changed, but also the contrast (the patterns of the tapestry, so to speak) bleached and party vanished totally!even setting the contrast low in cs3 didn't bring back the patterns...so my question was if there is a trick to keep the patterns, though lighting up or chaning the colour of the default image.

whew, long description, i hope someone can help better now^^

thanks.

Oh wow, long description. XD If you wanted to keep the patterns, but lighten the image, try go under Image, Adjustments, and then Hue/Saturation, that should help. I have CS4, though, so I'm not sure if it's quite the same.
If I totally got your question, I'm sorry, and if you have any more questions, I'll try and help out as best as I can. =)
